I barely even have to vacuum that area, let alone clean it with anything.

Good quality carpet is very stain resistant, such as what is in a Mercedes. Having carpet stains in that area is not an issue. Even what look like stains generally will suck out with a vacuum.

With black carpet, you usually don't have to worry about most stains, period. That is why it is so popular, and used in conjunction with almost all other interior colors.

Well I can sleep better tonight, I have carpet in that area even though it’s kind of cheap carpet. My wife is out with the X7 so I will have to check that later.

Look at AJT's LS, thats grey and that car is 20 years old. That area just doesn't get dirty because you don't put your feet on it.

I could have told you that, I checked when I looked at the new Model S lol.

Weird that it’s two separate pieces of carpet vs one like other cars.

So that I don’t have check tonight, what does the X7 have?

I believe the X7 is plastic, the previous gen 7 was plastic too.

I think you'll find the one part is part of the door sill trim and just wrapped in carpet, that's why there are two pieces.

All other MB's are plastic in that area, only the S Class was carpeted like that. GLE/GLS both plastic.

Perhaps not with you and him, but, with my 6' 2" frame and size-15 clown-shoes, the bottom or side of the shoe often rubs across it getting out, which, particularly in wet weather, can leave dirt marks. Like I said, though, usually a good vacuum and wet-rub-down with a thick cloth or towel will do the trick.

Plastic in the new and old Range Rover. Leather wrapped in the Bentley Flying Spur though.

One thing I love about the passenger side of this area on my car is the little carpeted fuse door that’s trimmed in rubber.

Bringing it back to the new 7, it’s finished just like my car in those areas.

That fusebox is still there on the W223, interestingly enough.

Its the lighting, the carpet is all the same color. The car’s interior lights were on.

Yeah it is, same spot. That picture is my favorite trim for the 223, that wood has so much depth and character. Wish you could get the steering wheel in the matching wood. That trim alone is a $3,500 option.

$3500 for a piece of wood in the steering wheel? That's where even I may draw the line on wood trim LOL.

Anyhow, that wheel doesn't look bad in white....especially if you can keep the oil on your fingers from staining it.
