Interesting so 0-60 in 8sec lol
Well hopefully its not mated to a CVT.

Try 5.7 seconds in the RX500h, 6.3 in the Grand Highlander lol

No CVT

That’s only in the top version.
The base hybrid engine has CVT in Grand Highlander, expect Lexus version to have the same.

Oooof I don't know. Yes it has good space (FINALLY!) and sure the RX500 powertrain should be better than the CVT variants. But I doubt this will have the air suspension that an MDX Type S has, nor the dynamics.

Lexus trying to command $70K with a Toyota reskin is ballsy. but seeing as how current RX500h can hit $70 already I don't doubt it at all.

As long as they have a top version with a powertrain that works for me they can have whatever they want in lower trims.

MDX is too small inside, it’s not even on my list. This will be way bigger inside. $70,000 today is nothing, a loaded QX60 is $70k. Grand Highlander loaded is over $60k so this will be $70k and even more. Loaded RX is over $70k.

TX350 - 2.4T (265hp like GH or 275hp like RX)
TX500h - 2.4t + hybrid (~360hp like GH Max/RX500h)
TX550h+ - I assume this is 2.4T + Plug in hybrid, not yet revealed powertrain

Textbook example of Toyota+ vehicle. Hope they prove me wrong. I doubt it since teaser shows exactly the same panels from GH but maybe the interior is awesome and better than whats in LX.

Teaser looks to show slightly different rear quarter panel and window than the GH. I would think the IP would be similar if not taken from the RX.

You're going to buy a vehicle this time?

I honestly don't know much about this because I assume it's some gutless hybrid, or not a decent powertrain in any way except for fuel economy.

It would be nice if we could get a new, nice REAL Lexus.

I agree.

What are the current models that don't have a Toyota cousin? IS, LS, LC?

Its embarrassing especially considering what Genesis is doing with their lineup and they have probably 10% of Lexus budget.

4cyl engines with CVT don’t belong in large luxury brand 3 row SUVs.
Lexus completely wasted the V6 turbo powertrain in the LS500. It should have made its way to many more models as LS has been out for 5 years now…

While I do agree.. this will be a cash cow for Lexus, while they will have the now more off-road oriented GX in the same segment as well pushing higher ATPs too, so instead of having one singular RWD-based crossover SUV for the segment, they have a FWD-based crossover to take on the comfort 3-row, and a longitudinal BOF RWD-based crossover to take on the offroad segment. Would've loved to see the GA-L LF1 come to production, but this is not a bad plan of splitting the segment at all imo.

Seems like no crossover nowadays ends up being a dud or a snooze. Even the (IMO) butt-ugly Nissan Juke and Toyota C-HR managed to sell in significant numbers.
