Nice photos, I still remember the small vehicles reigning there last time I was in France in 1989 (went to Paris and Normandy). I remember the French cars, namely Peugeot and Renault had some amazing looking vehicles when I was in Mexico, no Citroen or Dacia, but they stood out on the road. Some day would like to go back.
my favorite 80s french "hot hatch" is the peugeot 205, especially in full rally spec

They had some older Citroens that were owned by collectors. I do remember that near where I lived that an importer set up shop with some Citroens, but they were to be sold to foreigners. The only other time I saw the Citroen was at the World Rally Championship in Guanajuato. Renault had the Clio V6 which is still one of the most beautiful cars I have seen and very powerful. Peugeot had many interesting designs but my favorite was the 206cc that was their convertible model.
