what would you guys say to a friend that would pick a BMW 3 series (not 330i) over a SC430 and a G35 coupe????? The reason being "it's a BMW"?

There wouldn't be too much talking, but I'm sure the would commence. That guy is gonna be a perfect example for the BMW ***** stereotype.

You did the smart/right thing. It's her car, so let her get whatever she likes/wants. If she's gonna go with the 3 series...you should at least try to persuade her into getting the 330.

A lot of young buyers love the 3 series. One of the girl I know ( 21 years old) just bought one and so do her boy friend. I've tried to talked them into the IS, but the BMW brand is so much more important to them than anything else, but they're happy of it, so more power for them.
All you have to do is say' Congratulation on your new ride".

haha.. SHE would want a BMW... although I saw a girl driving around in a modded GS.. nice body kit, (surpeisingly enough) good looking rims, nice drop.... You have no idea how bad I wanted to get with her...

Damn, if she's in the SC430 price range tell her to get an M3 .... then there shouldnt be any bad feelings on both sides .... unless she likes the 323 sunflower rims ;(

Some people just want to get what everyone else have. I have great respect for the 3 series but they are everywhere one can easily see at least 20 of them everyday, which makes them less desirable for me. Besides it's going to be out of date by the end of next year, since redesigned 2006 MY is projected to come out. From what I've seen so far, it's not going be as radical and ugly as the new 5.

BMW's in general are great cars and certainly the 3 series is a great car. One with the small factory wheels doesn't look too hot as Brendan mentioned, but then, the GS with factory rims doesn't look too hot (sorry Brendan, honestly wasn't aimed at you, just a general point).

By no means am I trying to say the 3 series aren't nice.... But if I had the choice she has, about which of those 3 cars my dad would want to buy me...... I (personal opinion) wouldn't pick the 3 series..... especially for that reason. I can understand if she said "I don't want him to spend alot" etc. etc Obviously that's not an isue for her... So I just asked to see your opinions on that.

we had quite a few options open, and could have got a better car for the $$$, but my wife really wanted her 325ci. I will admit, they are extremely good looking, but performance wise, they are ho-hum

BMW 330i owner here that would never go lower than a 330i (especially if I had the money to buy a SC430!)
