Volvo Car USA reports sales of 12,933 cars in June

Jul 05, 2023 ID: 316731(MAHWAH, NJ) July 5, 2023 – Volvo Car USA reports sales of 12,933 cars in June, up 53.3 percent compared to the same period last year. The sale of Recharge models – those with a plug-in hybrid or fully electric powertrain – accounted for 29.3 percent of overall sales in the market, up 79 percent over the same period last year. Furthermore, figures from June 2022 were negatively affected by lower production due to last year's supply chain constraints.

For the 1st 6 months of the year, Volvo Car USA sales reached 59,750 cars, up 18.1 percent compared to the same period during 2022.

The Volvo XC60 was the top-selling model in the U.S. during the month, with sales of 3,925 cars, followed by the XC90, with total sales at 3,645 cars, and the XC40 at 2,193 cars.

Canada sales reached 1,206 cars in June, up 28.7 percent over the same month last year, with Recharge models taking a 24.7 percent share. The U.S. and Canada commercial region sold 14,139 cars, up 17.3 percent compared with the same month last year.

“It was a strong month with continued demand for our Recharge plug-in and fully electric models,” said Michael Cottone, President, Volvo Car USA and Canada. “Recharge momentum is growing and further ensuring that our journey to being fully electric by 2030 will be successful.”

Mitsu is good because the cars are reasonably priced, unlike the rest of the industry which has abandoned producing lower priced cars.

^^ overall only 2.8% drop which isn't terrible given their rapid push into ev's... it's going to take time. #'s show about 20% of sales were ev's better than i would have imagined.

The next-generation GLC deliveries are just starting and no GLC43 or GLC63 yet, which also isn't helping things. E-class sales are winding down with the W214 model's appearance being imminent. The GLB's sales decrease is really the biggest surprise.
