Thanks...you too.
I don't think we have to worry too much about alligators here in the D.C. area. The closest one ever found to D.C. (outside of the zoo) was in the marshy area of the Battle Creek Cypress Swamp down in southeastern MD, near the Patuxent River....and even that one was very rare that far north.
Absolutely drink responsibly...that means what it says. I don't drink at all.
I assume that, besides the usual fireworks and cookout today, you might (?) be doing some negotiating of your own on a new Carnival or Telluride.
I won't be doing any negotiating, but I'll be looking again at the new 2024 Encore GX today......not a test-drive (I know how they drive), but at that monstrosity on the dash of a 19-inch split-screen (it's real glass, BTW). I want to see if it can be configured in a way that I like and usually drive with....speedo, tach, tire-pressures, radio-station, and camera-app all visible at the same time so that I don't have to screw around touching icons or scrolling when I want to see something. On the former GX, the speedo and tach were separate circular analog gauges not connected to the screen, always visible, the radio station was in the heads-up display on the windshield ahead of the wheel, I could display the tire pressures between the speedo and tach, and the camera icon was always available right there in the center-screen. Because the heads-up display feature is gone from the 2024, and the speedo/tach/tire-pressure combo can no longer be shown all at once, that particular combination I like and am used to may (?) no longer be possible....I'm going to find out. But, if needed, I can do without the tach as or radio station at the same time, as long I have the others always visible on display. Sometimes we just have to get used to changes.

Lead Lap
Expressing it that way separates it as significant as opposed to being just another date on the calendar. Also, other holidays such as Memorial Day and Labor Day are not on specific dates. Those holidays are adjusted to be on a weekend. The 4th of July is always on the exact day. It’s the birth of the nation.
