It's borderline, but, in general, not IMO.....I agree with Margate.

I think of neutral colors as modern appliance colors.

White, black, and gray or silver. Lol

The new putty gray colors are maybe the new neutral?

Not sure how they will age tho, might just be a trend.

Just buy stainless appliances. Don’t buy the weird colors, stainless is always in style and isn’t a fad, it will keep the kitchen looking modern.

Same with cars, white, black, silver, grey always look sharp and never go out of style.

You might have a point with those so-called "putty-gray" shades....although most references I've seen to them are "Cement"...which is about the shade of wet/drying concrete. Either way, whatever you call them, those grayish and bluish-gray non-metallic shades are rapidly becoming a new fad.

Stainless appliances were a thing 20 years ago. Now I either buy black, matte or simply buy integrated to hide them as much as you can.

I’m in the real estate business FYI, that’s not correct. Buyers still want stainless appliances in most homes. Buyers are going to see black appliances and want to rip them out and replace them with stainless. Integrated is great if you can do it but they are much more costly and not worth it unless the home is higher end.

I agree with you. I just recently purchased a new GE/Hotpoint kitchen range and a washer....in the basic appliance-white. The stainless steel appliances cost substantially more for little else than just a fancy metallic finish.

It was a good deal in white.....got them both for a total of around $1100.

One almost (but not quite) neutral shade is Sage, a greenish-gray hue that I have always liked. Some automakers are now including it in their palate....here it is on the Buick Enclave.

What YOU buy makes stainless not a thing? Ok.

This study says 75% of shoppers still want stainless, which is typically only $50-$100 more than basic white. So stainless is definitely still a "thing".

The Houzz study reported that 3/4 of the respondents still planned to have stainless steel appliances. Their popularity continues, even though more homeowners are opening up to other styles and finishes. People like stainless steel. It matches every wood tone and finishes. Dark wood, light wood, and white cabinets all look good with stainless steel. The Ten most popular kitchens on Houzz for 2022 all had stainless-steel appliances.

I don't know why but even the slightest hint of green in the color screams custom color to me and not neutral.

This includes the putty gray cars with green hues showing in different lighting.

Saw a Jeep like that yesterday, gray with a hint of green.

All you have to do is walk through an appliance store. All the appliances aren't presented in stainless by accident lol

Obviously buy what one likes, your home is a home first and an investment second, but just know if you spend money on appliances that are not stainless you may wind up having to replace them with stainless or accept less money when you go to sell. I replace non stainless appliances that are only a couple years old when we go to list houses all the time. Don't pay extra for "dark stainless" etc, because most people just want regular stainless appliances.

Well, that is why I said, in my post, that it was not quite neutral.

Yeah green is not neutral. I do like those sage green type colors though. I also like dark greens, my 2011 Grand Cherokee was a dark green...

From what I've seen... Stainless appliances were have been a thing since 20 years ago.

Back to the car color, I saw a '24 GLE with ash (?) color? Is this the first time MB has this color? I've seen it on other brands before. Is this color considered a neutral color?
