People who have the info subpoenaed and used against them in court. People who get stalked. People who have their insurance use information against them. People concerned about the slippery slope who think the uses will become even more damaging. And of course just people who want privacy.

 

There is a lot of info in your car's computers. And it can be used against you.

 

Then stop using this technology. Stop carrying and using a smartphone. Remove the telematics systems from your cars or buy old cars that don’t have them. Commit to what it is you want. Courts can have all of the information about my movements and activities they want, I don’t murder or abduct people. How would my movements and activities hurt me in court? I’m extremely unlikely to ever even be in court. “Steve went to the carwash then he went to the grocery store and bought bread”. Thrilling stuff. On top of that a court has to great a subpeona for those records, which isn’t an easy thing for them to do.

Like I said before, companies are not signaling you specifically out. You aren’t that important. They’re gathering data about populations of people you simply happen to be a part of.

 

One thing that did stand out, is if you read agreements/privacy statement within the Lexus app. It states that they mayuse the images from the cameras in the car for I guess mapping images. That was a bit strange and creepy. Again though everything we do is captured somehow, but come on if your using the camera from photos at least let me use them for a dashcam !!!
