I really like the front and rear. The side shows off the previous Camry, but overall it's a nice refresh. All hybrid and optional AWD

The Crown Signia looks superb. Some of the latest Toyota and Lexus designs are smashing it out of the park

The "new" Camry is nothing short of an embarrassment. They didn't even bother attempting to change the doors and side panels. We joke about German cars being indistinguishable from one new generation to another, but this is literally just a facelift. There's really no excuse at how little Toyota decided to invest in what might be the most popular sedan on the planet just because they know they could get away with it.

Now we'll have to see the ES get the same treatment too.

The next gen ES is supposed to be built in Japan so hopefully they will do something different. Would not be surprised if it isn't somehow based on one of the Crown vehicles.

There is precedent for Camry facelifts that reused visible parts such as some of the windows. Again, like EricTsang said, this is simply a rational business decision by Toyota. SUVs are hot, EVs are demanding billions in new investment from a limited pool of dollars, and sedan sales are in decline. It's the same reason Honda just mailed in the new Accord.

After doing some further cross checking, the crown signia looks like an enlarged version of Lexus' UX Bigger in every way and more comfortable for both rows of seating. I was told by a dealer that UX typically suits people who do not need the 2nd row often. If you had to step up to a larger vehicle or need a child seat, the venza, nx, rav4 were the options. Now they can leave the rav4 realm alone, and keep things simple. The NX look is not for everyone and a highlander or RX could be an overreach. What do you think?

Crown Signia seems like an enlarged and better version of the UX in every possible way, and improved upon the Venza.

The red seats don't hack it for me.

Toyota Japan has abandoned the Camry. They will stop selling it after the current generation.

Their focus is all on the crown.

ES has already been designed. We already know what it looks like.

FWIW, The Signia was sitting right next to a Venza at the LA Auto Show. The Venza and UX are a much better size comparison. The Signia is longer both in terms of second-row seating and cargo space and gives off more of a Subaru vibe than crossover. Also the Limited Signia is much nicer than the top-spec Venza they had on display. Much nicer materials etc.

Per the ES Preview image in 2021, the ES will also reuse the front A-Pillar, fender, and front door/bodyline design with the current gen, just like the Camry does.

I think it is funny you think this is generic. It is pretty unique and will be on every new Toyota, will make it easily recognizable by just the light signature.

front overhang on signia is a lot smaller proportionally, and to me the overall look of the signia blows away the ux.

oh its unique all right. that gaping grill is absolutely hideous as also on the crown sedan. notably, they toned it down massively for the signia.
