The issue with Hyundai is they can’t choose a styling direction, and it makes their cars look old really quick.

The van was always called the Carnival in Korea and the Sedona here. Sedona is a much better name.

No joke the main reason why my wife did not want a Carnival is the name. We would probably have one if it was still called the Sedona.

I can't agree with that at all. Modern Hyundais/Kias don't look derived from anything else on the road IMO.

The vertical headlights and taillights are a lot like most recent Cadillacs. In fact, most of the "improvements" to the new Carnival remind me of a previous Escalade.

What it looks like to me is the EV9.

I agree in terms of overall design. Some small design details are similar enough to other brands to make people call it a copy. Example is the Sante Fe's steering wheel:

If I recall correctly, some recent Pacificas had a white-rim wheel like that.

Probably needs a lot of cleaning....oil and dirt from one's hands will stain it up very quickly.

Mine did, but it’s the overall design he’s talking about

They just steal a bunch of elements from various brands and smash them together. That's exactly what I mean by copying other brands

I just don't see that they are doing that. Every design element anybody can put into a car has been used by somebody at some point before. I don't see that done by Hyundai any more than its being done by anybody else. I think you notice it more with Hyundai because you dislike them so much.

That's a good looking van! I agree with the comment about the headlights looking like the prior gen Escalade, it's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the pics as well. It reminds me a bit of the current Expedition from the side with the roof line angles, etc. I think it looks really sharp.

Oh I like the looks, I just hate the actual car part of them. Drivelines and suspensions etc are a joke and that hasn't changed

The looks are 100% stolen from other cars, headlight, body lines, taillights, wheels, door cards etc etc are all from cars that are best in class or famous/desirable. That's fine if that what they do but they should admit it.

I actually think this looks good for a van, very loud style etc but certainly better than something like the older ones. For me though if I pick a van I would pick a town and country

C'mon, you hate Hyundais.

We'll have to agree to disagree, I just don't see that any more than I see it with other manufacturers. Chrysler hasn't made the Town and Country for 7 years.

What makes the suspension "a joke"? Its a macpherson strut suspension just like in everything else FWD lol. This is not a premium/luxury car, nor is anything they make that isn't a Genesis.
