2024 Hyundai Santa Fe
#211
They had been hinting they were going this way for several years before this, by gradually starting to pull an extra rounded corner out of the top edge, as seen in the pre-refresh version of the above C6 (image is a post-refresh), which came out in 2011. But this one was where they started to lengthen it and made the corners sharp.
The following year, the Q7 got it:
by 2017 (MY2018), 3/4 of the lineup had been switched over.

ah, realized i should have said 2025 santa fe!
The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe and the 2024 Land Rover Defender share several similarities, despite their differences in brand and target market. Here are some of the common features:
1. Rugged Design Elements
• Hyundai Santa Fe (2025): The new design of the 2025 Santa Fe has moved toward a boxier, more rugged appearance, which aligns more with the aesthetic of off-road vehicles like the Defender.
• Land Rover Defender (2024): The Defender has a distinct boxy, robust design meant for off-road capabilities, which the 2025 Santa Fe now somewhat mirrors with its more angular, bold styling.
2. Off-Road Capability
• Both vehicles offer some level of off-road capability, although the Defender is much more specialized. The 2025 Santa Fe, especially in all-wheel-drive trims, is better equipped for light off-road use than previous models.
• The Defender remains the superior off-road vehicle with advanced systems like locking differentials and a terrain management system.
3. Technology Features
• Both SUVs offer advanced technology like large infotainment displays (12.3 inches for the Santa Fe and 11.4 inches for the Defender), Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and 360-degree camera systems to aid with parking and off-road driving.
• Driver-assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking are standard or available in both.
4. Electrified Powertrains
• Both the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe and 2024 Land Rover Defender have electrified powertrain options:
• The Santa Fe offers hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, focusing on fuel efficiency and environmental consciousness.
• The Defender also offers a mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid option, though its primary focus is on maintaining its off-road capability.
5. Interior Comfort
• Both vehicles emphasize interior space and luxury, featuring available leather seats, premium materials, and modern conveniences such as multiple charging ports, climate control for rear passengers, and configurable seating layouts.
• The cargo space and flexibility in both vehicles make them practical for families or adventurous travelers.
6. Safety Ratings
• Both SUVs prioritize safety and are equipped with advanced safety features, aiming for top safety ratings from organizations like the IIHS or Euro NCAP.
7. Towing Capabilities
• Both vehicles have respectable towing capacities, although the Defender again excels in this area, with a maximum towing capacity of up to 8,200 pounds, compared to the Santa Fe’s 3,500 pounds.
8. Customization Options
• Both vehicles offer a wide array of customization options: from exterior color choices to optional roof racks and other accessories for adventure-oriented customers. This allows both SUVs to be tailored to different lifestyles and needs.
While the Land Rover Defender continues to be the more serious off-roader, the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe’s redesigned body and features offer more rugged and capable options compared to its previous models. Both vehicles aim to combine utility, technology, and comfort, though at different levels of capability and luxury.

The earliest implementation of the Hexagon was the Q7 which was a 2016 vehicle. Still a year after the Elantra and a whopping 5 years after the Veloster Turbo.
