haha. it wasn't shat color brown... i found this image which i think is what we had... i think they called it sand gray or something. honestly it was a great vehicle, totally reliable and a hoot to drive with the awd in snow. i was living in PA at that time before i migrated south.

^^^^That is an excellent low-maintenance color for hiding dirt.

The Legacy GT wagon was quite the wagon!…we do love our Outback though.

I will be eager to see what they pull off with the Forester hybrid. Obviously with a mechanical AWD in place, it won’t be as efficient as a Rav 4. …and I assume that Subaru wouldn’t resort to an electric motor to power the rears.

Welcome back...haven't seen you post much here lately. Yes, I remember you really liked the turbo Legacy GT. I was a little sorry myself to see it pulled from the U.S. market, too, but sales just weren't that high, and the Outback and Forester simply overwhelmed it in the American marketplace. The Outback and Forester became cult-vehicles many years ago.

Thank you! I started a Ph D in the spring and I haven’t seen much of myself!

After 20+ years of driving luxury vehicles, my MiL gave up her Q5 for an Outback XT. It’s certainly not thrilling, but push on the gas and it gets you scooting in just a few seconds. So perhaps not quite as exciting as the Legacy wagon, but a nice offering.
