Hyundai Motor America Reports Historic November 2023 Sales

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Dec. 1, 2023 – Hyundai Motor America reported best-ever total November sales of 70,079 units, an 11% increase compared with November 2022. This is the 16th month in a row Hyundai has seen increases in total sales. Hyundai set total sales records in November for IONIQ 5 (+99%), Santa Fe (+6%), Santa Fe HEV (+236%), Tucson (+36%) Tucson PHEV (+532%) and Palisade (+59%). All-time total sales records were set for Tucson and Santa Fe HEV.

"We're very pleased with the strong sales and steadfast support from our retail partners, leading us to a 16th consecutive month of increased total sales," said Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai Motor America. "This exceptional performance extends across our entire brand, with notable strength in our line-up of SUVs, a significant driver of our continued success."

November Retail Highlights
Hyundai sold 58,027 retail units in November, a 3% year-over-year increase from November 2022. November retail sales were led by IONIQ 5, Santa Fe HEV, Tucson, Palisade and Kona. Hyundai eco-friendly vehicle sales of 10,695 represented a 42% year-over-year increase. SUVs represented 82% of the retail sales mix.

SUBARU OF AMERICA REPORTS NOVEMBER 2023 SALES UP 6.4 PERCENT

  • 16 consecutive months of continued yearly month-over-month growth

Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) today reported 16 consecutive months of increased sales with 53,327 vehicles sold for November 2023, a 6.4 percent increase compared with November 2022 (50,138). SOA also reported year-to-date sales of 574,322, a 14.9 percent increase compared with the same period in 2022.

“We are geared up to end the year on a high note, achieving 16 consecutive months of sales increases and continuing to offer the safety, reliability, and adventure that customers are looking for,” said Jeff Walters, President and Chief Operating Officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “And now through Tuesday, January 2, 2024, there are even more reasons to choose Subaru thanks to our Subaru Share the Love® Event. Last month, Crosstrek achieved its best November ever with sales of 14,994. Forester remained the top performer by volume for the 5th month in a row with 15,089 vehicle sales and an increase of 64 percent over the same month in 2022. Outback sales also remained strong with 12,233 vehicles sold in November.

“Enthusiasm for Subaru vehicles remains high and has helped us put another month of consecutive sales growth under our belts,” said Troy Poston, Senior Vice President of Sales. “Car buyers have a lot to look forward to, including the 2025 Forester which we recently debuted at the LA Auto Show. Mazda Reports November Sales Results

IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 1, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today reported total November sales of 27,715 vehicles, an increase of 3 percent compared to November 2022. Year-to-date sales totaled 323,836 vehicles; an increase of 21 percent compared to the same time last year. With 25 selling days in November, compared to the same the year prior, the company posted an increase of 3 percent on a Daily Selling Rate (DSR) basis.

CPO sales totaled 4,677 vehicles in November, an increase of 8 percent compared to November 2022.Sales Highlights
  • Second best November total sales with 27,715 vehicles sold
  • Best-ever monthly sales of CX-90 with 5,055 vehicles sold
  • Best-ever November sales of CX-50 with 3,954 vehicles sold

Mazda Canada, Inc., (MCI) reported November sales of 4,943 vehicles, an increase of 61.2 percent compared to November last year. Year-to-date sales totaled 54,176 vehicles; an increase of 14.9 percent compared to the same time last year.

Mazda Motor de Mexico (MMdM) reported November sales of 8,607 vehicles, an increase of 109 percent compared to last year. Year-to-date sales totaled 68,713 vehicles; an increase of 67 percent compared to the same time last year.

IRVINE, Calif., December 1, 2023 – Kia America announced best-ever November sales of 58,338 units, an increase of 3-percent over the same period last year. The record month propelled Kia past its previous record for total annual U.S. sales in under 11 months – with 722,176 vehicles sold with one month remaining in 2023 – and marked the brand’s 16th consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth.

Total retail sales in November increased over the previous year with 54,547 units sold through Kia dealers, and total year-to-date retail sales increased 12-percent over the 1st 11 months of 2022. Kia's EV models saw a year-over-year increase of 120-percent with EV6 sales surging by 101-percent compared to the same month last year. And Kia’s EV9 reservation program has received deposits from customers in every 1 of the 50 U.S. states.

"Demand for Kia vehicles continues at an all-time high and to beat our previous annual sales record in less than 11 months demonstrates the power of the Kia brand and growing lineup of rugged and capable SUVs, sports sedans and innovative EVs.,” said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America. “New customers are shopping Kia like never before and our retailers are selling more vehicles than ever, and with the groundbreaking EV9 SUV arriving shortly in showrooms and the updated Sorento SUV on the way, we anticipate Kia’s winning streak will extend well into the new year.”

In November, seven models, including Carnival (+202-percent); EV6 (+101-percent); K5 (+13-percent); Sportage (+4-percent); Seltos (+3-percent); Telluride (+3-percent) and Forte (+1-percent) recorded increased sales compared to the same month the previous year. Kia's SUV lineup accounted for 71-percent of November sales and sales of Kia’s electrified models increased 45-percent over the same period last year.

In addition to the monthly sales performance, Kia America announced several initiatives, including:
  • The all-electric Kia EV9 was named a finalist in the competition for 2024 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year™ by the North American Car of the Year (NACTOY) jury. The EV9 was evaluated by 50 third-party jurors and named one of three finalists. NACOTY winners will be announced January 4, 20241.
  • For the second consecutive year, Kia launched the brand’s “Season of Giving Back” year-end sales event in partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. From November 16 – January 2, Kia will make a donation to St. Jude for every new Kia model sold or leased at authorized Kia dealerships in the U.S.2
  • The 2023 Kia Telluride SUV was recognized by the Hispanic Motor Press with the organization’s “Family Vehicle of the Year” Award. The award was presented at the Los Angeles Auto show, and was decided on by a panel of over 20 Hispanic automotive journalists, content creators, and industry influencers. In 2022, Telluride was named “SUV of the Year” by the Hispanic Motor Press, marking this year as a back-to-back win for Kia’s award-winning 3-row SUV.
