Thumbs up Motor Trend Truck of the Year ....2024 Chevy Colorado

OK, Pickup Fans.....Here You Go.

I'm a little surprised it beat the new highly-rated Ranger Raptor from Ford.

....and Joe Raiti gives a good static-review of the Bison-version interior and exterior.

Nice truck from GM, much deserved. I don't think the Ranger Raptor has had enough time in the hands of drivers to really be a contender. Is it even out yet? Ford is so behind with the Ranger it's kookoo.

Although we don't know for sure, I'm going to assume that this award also includes the new Canyon from GMC, which is traditionally the upscale version of the Colorado. And, IMHO, GMC's front-end styling usually beats that of Chevy.

According to the article the GMC doesn't share the award.

"This was the criterion in which the Colorado pulled decisively ahead of
its GMC Canyon sibling, as our judging team failed to find sufficient bonus content to justify GMC's price premium."

Yes, that's a little odd that they would withhold a joint-award based on price alone, but I guess we have to respect their view. In 1976, for example, the Plymouth Volare and Dodge Aspen twins got a joint MT award despite the Dodge costing little more, in 1978 the same with the Plymouth Horizon/Dodge Omni, and, in 1980, the four Chevy/Buick/Olds/Pontiac X-body compacts.

Again, hard to imagine something getting an award that looks almost like an Egyptian pyramid on wheels.

Chevy bought back my 2023Colorado and I've already heard the assembly line issues they're having on 2024s...HUGE chip issues too... wouldn't touch with 50-foot pole
