I guess I should have included Canada in my statement and just said North America. What proof do you have of diminished quality of those not built in Japan? That was the speculation when the ES moved production here, but that has never surfaced.
Have owned many vehicles made in Japan (most recently LS460 and LX570). LS is gone, LX just got traded last week for another Japanese made model - Infiniti QX80.

The reality is, the quality of Lexus vehicles built in North America are not inferior to those from Japan. Isn't that what you're really arguing without proof?

They moved it because they stopped making the Avalon and are freeing up the plant in Kentucky to make SUV's which sell better in the US. Just because Toyota makes a decision doesn't mean it's for quality reasons(see the Tacoma being built in Mexico)
