thats one big engine!

I also think that while the numbers are very impressive, the styling could use some help. And the issue of reliability in American cars is something thats hard for me to get over.

Do you think you could soon be 1SICKGTO? As you said before in a thread about the 2005 GS, "Sick don't drive ugly cars!" I'd need to see it with one of the Monaro kits you're talking about to reserve final judgement.

Maybe a few pictures of any other angle would do a little justice.

Yes, it is definitely nice to have the Goat back after 30-plus years, but I'm afraid (and this is indeed a Lexus forum) that if you guys are looking for Lexus quality in a Pontiac.....Australian or not.....you're going to be dissappointed. In the past couple of decades, Pontiac (and most of GM) has become notorious for poor fit-and-finish and sloppy build quality....just ask all the Firebird guys with their cars in the shop more than out.
That said, this is at least SOME consolation for the people who really loved their Firebirds in spite of their shodiness. No, the new Goat doesn't look like the originals ( I myself liked the 1970 the best with its all-vinyl front end) .....but it is not an ugly car by any means and quite handsome from some angles. No hood scoop? Pontiac says it may consider one next year.

I was joking. BUt it will be relatively easy to mod $$$$$ wise compared to any Lex. That is a plus.

hahah, ok, gotcha

i guess when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is

On a different note, after seeing some more pics of the GTO, i like the aggressive front end, however i guess the back end still needs to grow on me.

Here are some pics for the rest to see

All images were taken from Pontiac's website, but I figured some of you guys are too lazy to go there to see pics

To hear the GTO revving (its a meeeaaaaannnnn sound) go to http://www.pontiac.com/gto and click on "Hear it Coming" in the bottom left hand corner.

I take it you have done extensive road tests with the car to come up with that judgement. Dont knock it until you drive it.

That's one of those cars that you would love to rent to play with for a week, but you wouldn't want to own one. Something like a good looking hoe,you would hit it but you wouldn't want to call her your girl.

The real question is can you throw in a vette supercharger and call it a day. If so then I may reconsider my current plans.

I wouldnt call it a vette supercharger. The LS1 is in the C5 and was in the F-bodys. There are a few supercharges available for the LS1 and im sure they will fit the GTO with minimal modification.
