Wouldn't have to be a smaller engine, the Toyota turbo 4 for instance is 2.4L
I don’t disagree. But I was referring to more bread and butter I4 that are smaller now…. I think the 2.4t would be an ideal engine. But I don’t fault Toyota for the 2.5 when others have got 1.5 or even smaller…or even one less cylinder like Chevy or Nissan
Stopped by Lexus today to look at the TX (blah, I posted in the TX thread about it), looked at an LX too. Nice, but $117k Lexus is on crack...a $117k car with hard plastics on the interior is terrible. LX craze is over, they have units in stock with no markup.
They had a beautiful LC convertible on the floor, this is the spec I would get:
This is with the drivers seat adjusted for me, won't be using that rear seat lol

Should have made this a two seater. They do this as there is a US tax on two seat cars from Japan. No tax from Germany. Infotainment is still bad… far behind

That is a stunner for sure. Maybe the only thing in the Lexus lineup right now that's interesting.
I have resolve like never before to NOT buy any new cars for a long time, but the LC always severely tests that resolve! That LC convertible is gorgeous! I would choose a coupe, though, and a different interior color.
As for infotainment, I think the new system is pretty good, but at this point it doesn't matter much. I'd just use CarPlay.
One other thing, check out that showroom, that is one of the 2 remaining original Lexus dealers in the DC area. That glass you see behind the LC's bow has frosted pictures of the original Lexus LS and the 2ES and the original SC in it, its like a time capsule. Tiny little showroom with room for 2-3 cars. They are moving this summer to a huge new dealer and that one will be torn down. Lexus of Silver Spring
Doubtful the service and experience will be as good.
The experience at that little dealer is nothing to be excited about lol, there is hardly any waiting area, they have people sitting literally in the entrance foyer. The new modern Lexus dealers are way, way better. Little dealer like this just can't handle the volume of customers a Lexus dealer serves today.
Lots of luxury cars here in Vegas, but I feel like I rarely see any LS500's on the road. Most Lexus sedans are IS or ES. I noticed last night that I was driving alongside an LS500 on my way home and......it screams "generic Toyota sedan". I can't believe how badly they've fumbled the bag.

Although it has been some time ago, I did some Lexus reviews there at Silver Spring (by CL-member request), including the original IS-F and the excellent 4th-generation ES300. Nice classy place.
