It’s possible we may add another LX570 to the family fleet.

More info if so. The Yukon stranding me was fine, but I wouldn’t want it to be another family member and they sure as hell don’t want it to happen either.

It possible it could be more than the battery.

Like I said when it was delivered, if it’s junk it’ll be traded right in on an LX. The problem is size. But I could always buy them a roof rack luggage thing.

I’ve had to put some money into the Mercedes (fine) then the GMC breaks down (not fine). I sure hope it’s a small fluke. It’s under warranty. I took it back to the dealer on Friday and they’re running more tests once they get it back in there to the shop tomorrow I’ll know for sure.

LX570s don’t strand people, or sure aren’t known for it.

I'm seriously thinking about getting a dash mounted cam, just in case I see something cool or fail. Lol

You are still in warranty, that's the whole point of a new car so use it unless it becomes unbearable? I doubt that it is going to be THAT bad

Let's look at this logically. A vehicle has what appears to be a minor issue, GM is fixing it under warranty. You'll receive back a fully operational vehicle that works exactly like it was before it broke down. Odds are the issue won't repeat itself again. You're going to go sell that vehicle, losing thousands on depreciation since it was purchased and go buy another used vehicle that could also have minor electrical issues but is not under warranty?

Let's just see what the problem is first. I don't think it's illogical, and I'm just brainstorming-- the LX would be worth less than this Yukon is now... I don't get bad deals on cars, never have never will. It'll take me 2 seconds to sell that Yukon and then pay less for an LX. I don't want a phone call from someone older in my family that's broken down and scared to death on the interstate in an $80,000 pretty much new SUV.

I sure could have used a shifter that wasn't on the dash that other day to get it into neutral and push it further off the road, LX wouldn't have been a problem. It has a real shifter and gauges.

Stuff happens to cars, all cars including Lexuses. I’ve been left stranded by a Lexus before, it happens.

They’ll fix it and it will be fine.

we seem to oscillate from 'new cars are crap' to 'old cars, especially toyota/lexus, last forever, never break and require no maintenance'.

If it’s mechanical, it can break lol. New, old, whatever.

They're gonna call me soon because it's back there in the shop. They were absolutely slammed on Friday when it was towed in.

Of course I hope it's just a silly fluke, I love that thing and GMCs. I still think it's the battery...

the quality wasn't quite there compared to previous decades but i think the 00s was the most fun time to be a mercedes fan, it was just one crazy creation dressed in a beautiful body after another! beginning with supercharging the already potent M113 and culminating in the SL65 black series... looking back i definitely think i took it for granted that a supercharged V8 and a twin-turbo V12 were each simultaneously on the same showroom floor

Oh yeah, for sure. Mercedes did start going OTT with the power, but in the best way. I remember getting magazines where a new CL55 went 186MPH, on the cover.

Now there's the Motor Trend I know and remember.

That said, quality did slip. I had some time in an R230 and of course it was a nice car but the build quality and bank vault-ness feeling just wasn't there like in my R129. You have to use two fingers and still use a decent amount of effort just to open the doors to get out of my car from inside lol.

Z4 or Supra, the car is impressive and BMW’s B58 is a helluva engine. Responds to mods well. Few mods take it over 500hp to wheels I believe the transmission in stock form is good for up to 600hp.

Its definitely on my list of next vehicles I may consider
