Agreed and I struggle with that when it comes to my work cars for me/the wife. I know that a cheap domestic makes more sense, but I don't want to drive something a hate and she had been ruined by LSs now lol!

As old as it is I still like my Jeep due to the unique experience. However I'm still working on that cayenne deal

Go to 5:00, a lifted broken down Land Rover, that's pathetic.
So that's entirely down to the driver hitting the water at far too high speed and you'd get the same outcome with anything at that speed.

If the Land Rover driver had driven slower, they would have had no problems.

neither your LX nor mine would have any trouble crossing that ford, all it needs is a slower entry speed.

I don't understand having "commuter" and "beater" cars just to leave a great car in the garage...thats why I want to make this EV travel thing work. I could just take the Pacifica even when I travel there alone but I want to drive my awesome car on that fun trip. $1,300-$2,000 a month is a lot to pay for something you can't drive everywhere you want to go...

Yeh most broke down because they approached too fast and force the water to ride up high into the air intake. If they went too slow then there is not enough positive pressure in the exhaust then all the water will flood the engine via the tail pipe.

There was one video where the rolls Royce driver just U turned the other way - he was probably thinking - hell no, that water ain’t touching my RR!

I wouldn't take one of my real cars to certain areas and I can't exactly haul engines/axles/transmissions in them. Normal workdays though I've been just driving the W12 since it's so good, I just have to wash off and change clothes as an extra step.

If I'm going into the city I always take the Jeep since I don't really care if someone messes with it. Wife uses the LS460 for everything except going into the city or fresh snow to avoid getting salt on it being a steel car.

Great tires, I had them on my GX460 for years. The factory Michelins were junk in comparison.

They are great tires, and have been around forever. I ran them on my Jeeps, and on my old Explorer dating back to the 90s.

If I recall I suggested to AJT he get them for his LX…

I would too. My next car will be something more luxurious and it will be a daily driver. Probably not going EV, but don’t tell my colleagues I said that.

That's how I see it too.

I've driven enough blah cars for one lifetime.

If I drove a lot of miles I'd maybe pick up an appliance car to rack the miles up on.

My daily driver is an old RX330.
Luxury?

It kinda was at one time. Lol

I don't drive a lot of miles these days, mostly work from home and ya'll got me thinking I might need an upgrade.

Oh you did. And I'm going to follow your advice when I need tires, they're fine now.

Yeah, agreed. My Civic was and is a bit of an appliance car. I got it new and planned to turn it in at lease end, but used car prices exploded upward and I bought it at lease end. It’s a nice enough car and I like how it looks with mods, but it is not a special driving experience. I don’t look forward to driving it. The a/c issues with the car will likely accelerate its departure. Compressor seal and condenser were replaced under a mea culpa Honda warranty, but the evaporator is likely to fail. My folks have a 2016 Civic and I took their car for the warranty work because their a/c was not working. The dealer said the evaporator is leaking and is not covered under warranty. That’s a $2200 repair and I told them not to do it. Mine is 3 years newer but headed down the same path. When the evaporator fails, it’s gone.

This is my first Honda and it will be my last. My folks have had 4 Hondas and 3 were great cars for them. For their Civic and mine, the decline in quality is evident.

Yeah. You work too hard to drive a crappy car around. It’s also why I’m not a fan of “company cars”. Often times it’s something bland and not enjoyable to drive like an Equinox or Malibu.
