The RAM needs Premium fuel to hit the 17MPG average and that is a hard sell IMO I think the Tacoma will cost about $2000 less per year in fuel costs which is big. Both should have full time 4WD which is a disappointment
It's not a difference that matters, $2k is nothing with THAT kind of gap between the vehicles.

You and the "full time" 4x4 lol! Maybe you will look into it more at some point :P

for the Tacoma buyer. $2000 in fuel savings per year is massive, Tacoma doesn’t use premium fuel either.

all the high end body on frame models have full time 4WD. Mercedes G class, Land Crusier, LX, GX, all the older Land Rovers. Now Ford is adding full time 4WD to the top spec Ranger

Yeah and the new Accord is the exact same size as the last generation Avalon.

The CRV got so big that Honda made an HRV. Thankfully, both models are very appealing to terrible drivers. RAV 4, yeah, them too. These are for non drivers.

Not it really doesn't matter at all if you are buying a vehicle of that price. If that little extra costs breaks you then why did you buy such an expensive truck?

The Tacoma TRD Pro's pricing is indeed...ambitious. I'm pretty smitten with the new Tacoma, and would seriously consider getting one if I didn't need a full size truck.

I'd likely go for the TRD Off Road trim, which is what I had previously for my 2020 Tacoma (my 2011 Tacoma was a TRD Sport). That would put me at about $53k for an i-Force with leather and a manual transmission, or also about $53k for an i-Force MAX Hybrid, but with cloth instead of leather (current Toyota site does not allow you to build a hybrid TRD Off Road with leather, for whatever reason).

How are new Tundra sightings where everyone is?

It is a MASSIVE hit here. There are so many that you'd think they're selling as well as domestics (they're not).

saw a new tundra last night actually when getting onto the highway... i completely out-merged him in the LS, aka... he was trying to race

there's a chance i've seen more and just didn't realize since i'm generally indifferent toward pickup trucks, with the exception of things like the ram SRT-10 or original ford SVT lightning

Yeah that UZ V8, it pulls. It's a quiet, humming beast normally but it springs to life and revs the hell out of itself when you boot it.

I particularly like torque curves from normally aspirated V8s.

I see tons of new Tundras in the Philly suburbs. I've never looked at the sales numbers but just assumed they're good.

I don't think I'll see many TRD Tacomas. The pricing is just too aggressive. I see A LOT of new Frontiers

I think they look killer. So many ways to spec them, colors, the TOYOTA badge etc... I'd have A LOT of fun ordering one new. But I don't want the hybrid that you're stuck with in the high trims.
