For years my wife has called these beige/gold colors "old people colors". She's even got me saying it, AND we're both old!

It looks pretty good on the GL450.

I was gonna say, that can't be real.

BTW gold LS400 looks great.

Gold LS430s looked awful, pre-refresh.




It's not an ugly car but it's not pretty either. It is regal and expensive looking, however, so there's that.

2004 LS430 refresh one of the best refreshes ever.

Here is the refresh, I rather like it.

So Jeep apparently had a color called "Hearing Aid Beige" for a SEMA show a long time ago.

2009 Jeep Wrangler JT Concept

The only parts not shared with anything else in the DaimlerChrysler family or available from the aftermarket are the custom-made rear bulkhead and removable roof. Oh, and the JT's unique "Hearing Aid Beige" paint (we're not making that up) that's not shared with anything other than, um, hearing aids.

Hahaha!! Never heard of that before.

Maybe these days "Long Island Gold" or "West Palm Gold" would be a more appropriate names lol.

I think the pre refresh LS 430s look ugly in any color.
The refresh looks much better, but only with the 5 spoke wheels.

I think a black or blue pre-facelift with chrome rims both pass the test. But still, refresh looks a million times better. Pre refresh was absolutely out of the question.

My lawyer's parking garage has a black one just like this.... looks still dowdy, but nevertheless expensive and has presence. Haven't been in years to see him, wonder if it's still there.

i first heard the term when peter jones and theo paphitis (guys from dragon's den) were the guests on top gear... clarkson says how peter bought a beige maybach 62, and theo corrects him 'no no it's jewish racing gold'

actually speaking of top gear and hearing aids, when clarkson and hammond attempted to design a car specifically for the elderly, this is how they decided on the paint color

the pre facelift 17" wheels on the 430 (as pictured in your post) are probably my favorite wheel upgrade for the 400! the 5 spoke 18" wheels look great of course but the 17s are still pure classiness without starting to be sporty



i think this car actually belonged to @billydpowe who was in the LS forum years ago

Finally saw the new Z this morning. It was a dark blue. I couldn't get my phone out in time but it looked really good.
