Are you talking about the ubiquitous former Nissan/Infiniti 3.0L V6? That was a gem......it was well-rated, drove nice, and reliable. The later 3.5L V6 also had a good reputation.

I have a love/hate with Nissan, the Maxima and certain Altimas are nice as well as some infinity products for what they cost/ease of working on but there are also some dumb design and packaging decisions.
For 6 cyl engines I greatly prefer I-6s and the Mercedes/Audi V6s for different reasons, the Mercedes ones are very unusually smooth and relaxed as is fitting for the brand and Audi V6s are hilariously powerful.
I-6s are just nice, doesn't matter the brand really I have yet to deal with one I disliked in any aspect really.

I had a parenting fail kind of evening...
My son (age 9) is getting more and more interested in cars. He loves all cars, but especially supercars. I asked him tonight what he thinks of the LFA. "What's an LFA?" he says. Oh no!!! We're quickly remedying this issue, via YouTube and other Google searches, plus LFA photos I've taken that reside on my phone. How could I have let this happen???

LOL if I drive it, I'm done. I've driven the 3rd gen non-hybrid model, but it's the hybrid that I have my eyes on as the additional torque would greatly assist in towing. Would love to have one, just not sure that I'm willing to pay for it. My 2021 is in great shape, does the job well, and only has 15k miles on it. If I sold it, I'd definitely miss it, but still...

Yeah I'm done screwing around with these guys lol.
On another car, thats a leftover 2023 AND a demo in Texas, the most they will come off MSRP is $2,000 before rebates. I was just on the phone with the guy and his sales manager and I literally said "I just don't see how you can tell me with a straight face that you have 35 2024 S Classes on your lot and the best you can do on a leftover 2023 thats a DEMO is $2,500 off MSRP before rebates. "I understand where you are coming from"...
So, I'm keeping what I've got.

The 190hp VQ was a fabulous engine, smooth as can be and plenty of torque below 2k. Felt way more than 190hp 205 lb/ft.
However the later 3.5s and especially the 3.7s sound and feel horrendous near redline, I definitely agree with you there.
V6s can be great, it's just.... V8s are better.

If they would give me $15k off, which leaves them $2,500 in profit before the commission on the lease, plus the $10,750 AMEX rebate, apparently that actually can't be stacked with the $10k dealer cash, then the lease would be $150 more a month than my S560, which is reasonable seeing its an $18,000 more expensive car, but I can't get a dealer to get anywhere near that on these leftover 23s. Even the broker can only get 8% off a 23 (there is 12.5% profit), which is leaving $6k in profit for the dealer before the financing.
I'm going to try again right at the end of the month and see if a dealer will do it to get the unit. Back looking at i7s again too.

The real benefit of a V6 is that it isn't an I4. That's about it.
I've never driven a Nissan VQ, but I hate them enough based on the sound. They are so annoying and a favorite of the worst people you know to hoon around in.

It was literally a poor man's 540i.
142MPH. 6.6 seconds to 60. In 1995.

Interior Lexus nice, pretty much.
