So this one was pretty beat, it shows what happens to the metal when its not perfectly cared for, really looks rough. Thats why the owner is paying $7,000 to wrap it.

I’ve seen a few in person because Orange County CA is in the running for being the ‘hey, look at me!’ Capital of the world. They are really awful looking vehicles. My friend saw one in Monterey where he lives (what a place to live!) and he thought it was a dumpster.

Not sure why it seemed so funny, but the other day I saw a Cybertruck being driven by a little old lady who could barely see out of it...

I meant to get a picture of that too. That is a Model Y with a pink inozetek vinyl wrap. Quality is super great, looks just like paint.
I'm not a pink kind of guy but the color is strangely interesting. Those are three diverse vehicles in the pic.

Yukon does shut off cylinders but there's this device you put in the OBD socket to disable cylinder shutoff. Maybe you guys can help me make the decision, not everyone says to use it.

But it does work. What do you guys think? I don't want cylinder shutoff on.

What do you guys think?

Depends entirely if you have long term concerns, I have yet to encounter a cylinder management system that doesn't cause issues long term.

Cue the hackers who will override this within the first month. Also, I think it’s funny that Citroen thinks their vehicles need a speed limiter.

My brother’s 08 Odyssey that is his work van had this. He did an override to disable cylinder deactivation. A lot of Odyssey owners do that because it seems to malfunction when the vehicle gets a bit older.

Random story about my drive back from the airport on Saturday. We were a bit late getting to the airport when we left so I was a bit low on gas and didn't have time to fill up. Estimated range was ~50 when I parked and home is about 48 miles away from the airport, but with slight elevation gain most of the way. We get to the car and have to crank the AC because it's 90 at 10PM and humid AF. I start driving home and have a few gas stations I'm confident I can get to in order to get gas, so no problem right? Well if y'all remember, NJ is a state where you can't pump your own gas. Normally, I love it, but that means that most gas stations close at a certain time.

I get to my first gas station about 15 miles away from home. My estimated range is ~10 miles. Station is closed. The next one up is about 3 miles up the road. Closed. The next one up is about 3 miles after that. Closed. At this point, I'm sitting at 3 miles of estimated range with 9ish miles left to go. My last option is a Wawa that's a little off the path, but still closer than home so I start making my way there. Turn up the temp in the car, stick right at speed limit (55), and just be real gentle on the gas. Thankfully, roads were empty at 10:45ish so I wasn't slowing anyone down. The last 5 miles I ran with the estimated range at 0 and chatting with the kids because they were still on PST. I pull into the Wawa (open 24 hours!) and as I turn the car off, I tell my wife I've been past E the last 5 minutes so let's see how close we were to running out of gas.

I get the receipt back and 16.9 gallons. Total 2018 Ody tank size? MF'ing 19.5 gallons. I still had like 60 miles of range on this dumb thing. Thanks for reading my TED talk

Lol, yeah you gotta know how paranoid your fuel gauge/DTE is. On our old RX350, there were about 2 gallons left when it hit 0 miles remaining, so you could be pretty lax about finding a station. On my E46 which we owned at the same time, one mile after zero it would read "--" and at that point you pretty much have what's already inside the fuel pump. I once put in 16.4 gallons. Tank capacity is 16.2. I never took risks with that car's DTE again.

The last two times I was in the UK my rentals (Nissan Qashqai and an MG HS) had a dash warning for going over the speed limit. I actually appreciated it as in England there are speed cameras all over the highways, so it did help to keep me aware of that. At least it was not intrusive - not a limiter or anything like that, just a flashing indication.

I'm usually pretty good about filling it when it gets to ~1/4 tank, but when you only get gas every month or so the habit falls off a bit. I'll get back to 1/4 tank fill ups
