I know it’s an EV but the branding by Porsche in the case of the Taycan Turbo S is pretty amusing. Turbo, is it? lol. I guess that’s using a badge to ease the transition.
Oh yeah it rides great on the highway, but the lack of on center feel keeps highway driving from feeling relaxing at all, you don’t have the same feeling in yours?
I feel like if I let my guard down for an instant I’m drifting out of my lane. Compared to the Suburban I had down here last year that had much better on center feel and drivability.
No, I def don't have this level of severity. I noticed it the first 3 or 4 times driving on the highway right after buying it, so I think it was likely just me having the LX as such a recent frame of reference to compare against. I did just over 300 highway miles yesterday and paid closer attention to it given your comment and absolutely no major drifting.
Nissan/Infiniti products don't appeal to me at all. If I was in the market for a large BOF SUV, I would be shopping domestic.
Never appealed to me either until we had to replace our LX and started shopping. We looked at the big domestics and I was 99% sure we'd end up with a Tahoe (my #1 choice) but my wife didn't like how it drove and she was disappointed with the lack of luxury feel in 2nd and 3rd row (quality of seats). I also know at least 5 people in my circle of friends and family with 2021-2023 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban/YXL who have had MAJOR engine problems and/or complete replacements in the first 30k miles. I was nervous about that and the more forums I checked, the more concerned I became it would happen to us.
The Infiniti styling doesn't appeal to me as much as the Tahoe, butafter having it for about 6 weeks and putting almost 2k miles on it in that time, I'll say I think it's a great road trip vehicle. Everyone is comfortable and it's very quiet at 80mph. It's way overdue for a complete refresh and I think that is coming soon. I think Lexus and Infiniti are very similar in their design iterations, holding on to general designs for way longer than other manufacturers.
I was behind a black one driving home from work the other day. It looked so good.
Turbo S badging is really silly though.
i've seen the taycan's looks described as the panamera's hot sister lmao... really is a pretty decent description of it
agreed on the silly turbo s badging, i guess there's really enough people in the "more money than brains club" that porsche figured it was a good move... because i don't know who else would actually be drawn in by that
This illustrates just how big of a tank the W126 was. This is almost insanity. It's tough like a truck.
I just watched that one the other day!! That guy was drunk as hell lol. W126 was def a tank in that video. I don't know how many GSP cruisers smashed into that thing.
I watch a lot of Arkansas State Police and Georgia State Police high speed chase videos. Don't run from those boys!! Many times they're just going to give a citation for speeding and the offender ends up with multiple felonies.

Does the one your driving have Dunlop Grandtreks? Seems to be a common complaint with those tires.

It doesn’t even look really wrecked once they finally get him.. Absolute tank. Makes me love the R 129 even more, probably the last Mercedes built like that.

What I noticed is how quick that is, are we sure that’s a 300SE and not a 560 for example? On the interstate he easily caught up but he couldn’t catch the guy on regular roads in a V8 Charger, not really. It shows just how tough and durable, drivers’ cars they were (and still are S -class at least).
