The Prius evidently gets better mileage in the left lane. They are out there going under the speed limit a lot.

yep... society is way too lacking in general mechanical sympathy lol

also like many she doesn't really have a concept of HVAC operation and will turn the temperature way down to "cool things off quicker", even though the car is already cooling itself as quick as possible if it's been sitting in 85+ degree heat and sunlight regardless if you set the temperature for 70 or 65

Oh I absolutely agree! It shouldn’t be called Bronco sport. Maybe Courier would have been a good name? I cringe when bronco sport refer to thier car as “My Bronco!” Ugh!

I do love the large regular Bronco though way more than the Wrangler.

Yep! I have given up trying to teach mom how to use auto climate control. Always sets it to a weird temperature and adjusts the fan speed manually!

I would rather have the 2.5 in a Camry. Smaller displacement engines even with turbo are less desirable imo

From a responsiveness perspective that’s just not the case, a turbo 4 feels much peppier than a NA 4

in the case of a Camry, I’d rather have the larger NA engine over the smaller 1.5 you often see. Small little engines just don’t feel right. The larger size of an engine is still very desirable

Meh, 4 cyl vs. 4 cyl. They both sound like crap to me, give me a good old V6 or V8 for refinement.

My issue with the 2.5 in the Camry is not its power output, it's the graininess of the engine. I had it in an ES loaner and while I'm generally pretty forgiving of Lexus/Toyota decisions, I was blown away by how unrefined that engine was. When I was younger, my folks had a Camry (1995) and I remember that 4 cylinder being super smooth.

Yeah I agree. My brother has a 2002 Camry 2.4l formerly my grandmothers car. I’ve always found that engine quite grainy and buzzy. It was the first Camry year to use a timing chain. Instead of a belt.

seems like eco tech has that effect, direct injection at least definitely has louder ticking... maybe being designed for super low weight oils have something to do with that as well, isn't it like 0W-16?

i know what you mean though, my old school simple port injected engines are both more consistent and smooth than the I6 in the GLE450... which should be perfectly smooth but it gets kind of buzzy between 2000 - 3000 rpm and is kind of rattly on cold start, always has been though and it hasn't gotten any worse over the 15,000 miles so i guess nothing to worry about lol

Wouldn't have to be a smaller engine, the Toyota turbo 4 for instance is 2.4L
