Back to cars, that Volvo wagon is in excellent shape and it’s cool to see that. I was recently reminded that anyone who modifies a car or truck does it to their own taste and not for everyone else. I am not saying that as a knock on the wagon. In my own case, most people don’t care about any of the cars I have owned and modified with the exception of the AE86. I liked those cars when they were new. I was 13 when the GTS was introduced in the US and I wanted one then back in 1984. Mine is an early one with a build date of November 1984.
People went nuts for the cars due to Initial D and the drifting scene. Mine is still under construction but it is painted and has 17” SSR wheels on it. The AE86 “purists” say you cannot put 17s on an AE86. Guess what? If it’s your car, you absolutely can.
What an interesting engine that LX had. A 4.5L I6 is nuts! Wow only 130k miles. It looked clean as hell.
On a side note I just got back from my local Lexus dealer. My 2024 IS 500 should be here Thursday. I know I should be posting this in the IS 500 forum but I spend the majority of my time here in CC. Just got tired of sitting on the fence. Finally getting my V8 fix!! I don't know why Lexus had to make the Cloudburst Grey/White Nuluxe exceedingly difficult to get but whatever.
Btw, the TX looks WAY better in person than I thought. It was a black metallic paint with a light grey interior. I should have taken pics. Lexus is going to have a couple huge hits with the TX and GX. My sales guy said there's 61 people on the waiting list for the new GX. He said a bunch of them call once a week to see what's taking so long. Apparently they'll start showing up on the East Coast in April.

Congrats. I bet you can’t wait for it to arrive. Love the JT vin
I've been looking at the IS 500 for 2 years. I finally had enough of browsing Autotrader and other sites. This insanely rare color combo popped up in VA and I had to jump on it.
Thanks Steve! Your new S Class is next here on CC.
It's been a somewhat agonizing process waiting for one of these to appear on the East Coast. Here's hoping to an early Spring. I see some mid 60's next week.

There’s nothing wrong with posting your IS 500 here in the general car chat thread. Congratulations and excellent color combo!

It is great you bought it new. It’s more special new. And I can’t think historically where a manufacturer brought an engine back to a vehicle model where it was once deleted.
I’m cleaning the S560 up. I’ve talked about some detail quality differences between Mercedes and Lexus. This is an example. This is the side of the trunk lid where the lower trunk meets the upper trunk, the chrome strip that runs across the top of the trunk covers this joint. Look how sloppy this is on the side, you would never see anything like that on a Lexus, certainly not a $100k+ one.

Where is that on the car? Hard to see the context of where
