I hear you! My oldest is 12. She doesn't care about cars. My boy turned 9 in January, and he's all over them! I even took him to the auto show and he loved every second of it!
This Chally had been in production since 2008, it did get a heavy refresh in 2014 with a new Dashboard, steering wheel, and tail lights. I hear it shares suspension componentry with the Mercedes W211 and W220 which is hard to believe because I found the ride in my moms with the 20” to be quite stiff and uncomfortable.

Just because a car shares componentry with another car doesn't mean the tuning is the exact same lol.
I think all Tacomas are now assembled in Mexico. If these were made in Japan these issues would be super rare.
Nah, if you have been to a factory that makes modern cars or sub components they are all effectively the same. Humans can only effect operations that aren't automated so things like panel gap, bumpers, dash, etc that you see have issues in brands like Tesla and now the modern Toyotas. The driveline should all be assembled in a nearly fully automated plant

If you have poor quality parts and poor quality engineering, the parts will fail. There are some Toyota models that are made in Japan that are fully hand assembled
