that was actually the beauty of the CVPI, it sounded like you were on spike TV in hot pursuit of some stolen dodge neon but actually you were still going below the speed limit

The Range Rover is impressive as well but I want something that is top of its respective "thing" and the Bentley outclasses it.

Slow cars with crazy sounding engines are so fun! That's one reason I bought the manual diesel Jetta I have, maximum entertainment and turbo nosies lol!

the porsche n/a flat 6 sounds incredible! even at low rpms when one is driving around you slowly it somehow has this underlying beastly, heavy duty quality about it

also just as a general tip if it matters to you, in the URL for the youtube video if you replace "shorts" with "watch" it'll play as a normal youtube video... the whole youtube shorts thing annoys me and that's an easy workaround... but i just use a chrome extension that automatically does that anyway lol

elow the speed limit
I 1000000000% know what you're saying agree, and it's funny bc I have a story too....

First though, yes that was an anemic engine, but it was also one of the stoutest motors you could get period. Cops got rid of these then NYC used them for cabs, I've been in a Crown Vic cab with well over 300k. Jiggly and loose but the car was fine. Those 4.6s and Panthers in general were bulletproof, unless I have missed something.

So when we lived-in LA we hated it and dealing with people and traffic so we'd just stay in most weekends and hang out and just put marathons of Cops on in the background. My husband at the time didn't really know cars too well (yet---this was 10 years ago). He mentioned the "cop was hauling ***"... I explained, "Oh it sounds like it and sounds good because it's a V8... but it ain't fast."

Now, the V8 Chargers are fast on Live PD and they sound great. The Tahoes sound really good too but why not get the 6.2? You could chase down most things in one of those, lol. Or at the very least definitely surprise someone lol.

But oh yeah, I remember those V8s moaning (but it still sounded good, you could just tell it was so underpowered) ...

I find the Bentayga really underwhelming...

Ever driven one?

I had the same thought until I was around them in person, opposite effect for the Rovers. They are talked up so much I was expecting way more than they actually are.....I still need to look at the latest one though.

And the noise, OMG the NOISE! Haven't heard a V6 sound that good since the F-type launched.

Agree, I don't like them at all.

Can't afford one, but I would NEVER buy one if I could.

It just has zero presence. It looks like your standard crossover but really really luxurious. Way too small.

Park one next to an Escalade it's invisible IMO, especially the sport Escalades.

it also didn't help that it was paired to an equally ancient 4 speed with super tall gearing... i couldn't find a clip of it so i made my own lol but clarkson talking about that engine here absolutely kills me, he's exactly spot on lmao

also yes they're known for being "reliable" and "stout", but in the same way you'll never pull a hamstring if you never get off the couch lol... i'm not impressed when something lasts awhile just by being needlessly understressed

I haven't driven one but I see them everywhere and I have sat in them before. The interior is very nice, but I don't like the look and for the addiitonal cost I would take a Range Rover all day long.

I just really don't have any desire to drive something as flashy as a Bentley anyways, and I'd never spend that amount of money.

Um, that's exactly the engine in both of our LSs though lol. It would last forever anyway (FAA rated) even if run HARRRRRD. It's so under-stressed it's ridiculous.

I wouldn't really say it's understessed it if blows itself up with only 8psi of boost. If you can take an otherwise stock engine and hit it with 20psi over THAT is understressed. The UZ is a very good design but after 1993 they really weakened it since they didn't need the original strength so they trimmed it down.
