I forgot that Mercedes hadn't yet split the coupe to its own model like BMW did. Looks like that split is happening as we speak with production on the CLE starting this month. Meanwhile it looks like BMW is fixing to kill the 4 series and either return the coupe to the 3 series or kill it off.

Yup, I’m interested to see a CLE.

Here is the loaner.

It’s a pretty like looking car really. I don’t want one, but I like the design.

it's one of the few cars i can think of that stylistically really works as a coupe but doesn't look so great as a sedan

That's not so much a splitting off of the coupe naming of one particular class, as it is the axing of both the C-class and E-class coupe, replacing them both with a single new "tweener" model.

Does it have RFT tires? I heard they’re loud and hard.

I think I’d have to refuse that as a loaner, I’m 6’5” and I don’t fit in these small luxury coupes with sunroofs.

I used to like the look but I think it is started to look old. I never liked the painted part on the roof, would have been better looking if it were all black. I think the E class is a very stylish looking coupe E class looks better as a coupe than it does a sedan IMO.

Well this generation has been in production since 2015, so yeah, it would look a little old! Lol

And yes, I agree it would look better if the whole roof was painted black.

Yeah I don't know why Mercedes has that body colored painted strip up there.

E Class is also a good looking coupe, MB does coupes well.

That sucks... Let us know (like you won't lol). And that is disappointing about your dealer. My MB dealer is as good or better than Lexus, that sucks.

Ok how bad is the 2.0t?

Local dealer has my dream luxury car in stock with almost perfect options.....I'm going to go take a look.

The engine is very fascinating, low HP but insane torque. Over 700 off idle lol!

Yep. I think it's a 4100 RPM redline, that actually sounds glorious. I can't even imagine.

Butttt that legendary 6.75L V8 is gone for bad fuel economy, of course.

I would just assume this, but is start/stop a lot worse when it's not a smooth V8? The start stop in your S-Class isn't too terrible (though I hate it still and would always turn it off).
