about harleys getting a pass in CA re: exhaust noise - probably because a lot of cops (active and retired) ride 'em.

We have the same situation here. There's a Harley shop a couple of miles away. They violate local noise ordinances up the kazoo...but the local government turns a blind eye to it because they service the town's police-bikes and keep them running.

Motorcycles should always get a free pass by law

I've owned two Harleys so far.

Straight pipes sound the best, oh yeah.

I don’t find the sound of a Harley objectionable. It’s the nasty 4cyl aftermarket exhausts.

Yep. In my old condo, a group of Harleys would cruise by on the main road at 7 am on Saturday morning and that was pretty crappy. The riders say the loud exhaust is important for safety so drivers hear them coming. Uh, ok. The constant revving is a bit much, but maybe the bike would stall otherwise. I move and allow motorcycles some room and also so they know I see them. Most acknowledge it with a wave. Harley guys never do. Cut from a different leather jacket I guess.

One exception....late at night in a residential neighborhood. I used to have a neighbor who was a total **** about that. 1-2 AM coming and going multiple times.

Oof, it gets worse. Pricing on the Ram RHO was just released--$69,995. This is the "TRX Sub-cessor" (meaning it competes with the F150 Raptor rather than the Raptor R). 540hp/521lbft TT straight 6, plus much of the looks and offroad goodies from the now-retired TRX. WAY better value than the TRD Pro Tacoma for just $5k more.

Talked to a guy at the gas station about his car. These things are huge.

Dwarfs my SL in size and the SL is not a small car at all.

I think @Gojirra99 has a great picture of his LC next to his AMG GT showing the size difference.

No, but I started one up in the dealer to see how the top works and how it feels with the top up.

The exhaust is MEAN. Barks at you.

Still kinda stunned at the size difference, R129 is NOT a small car. It weighs 4200lbs, several hundred pounds heavier than my LS430.

This thing is huge, almost like Bentley presence.

It’s modern vs older car, pretty much everything today is way bigger than a similar car from years past. My S Class (and an LS500) are a foot longer than your LS430, and a new 7 series is 8 inches longer than that!

New SL is 10 inches longer than yours too

Yep. I grew up idolizing the E39 M5. My G80 M3 is the same length, same height, and 4 inches wider.

Yeah it's insane, so many cars are like a full size up if not 1.5 vs 2000ish.....the civic is accord sized etc

I agree that the RAM is the better truck. The HP is just insane, it’s bigger too. Where the Tacoma makes sense is that it will achieve 23 MPG so it has the price premium, there will a huge demand for the full hybrid. The RAM needs Premium fuel to hit the 17MPG average and that is a hard sell IMO I think the Tacoma will cost about $2000 less per year in fuel costs which is big. Both should have full time 4WD which is a disappointment
