I had a parenting fail kind of evening...
My son (age 9) is getting more and more interested in cars. He loves all cars, but especially supercars. I asked him tonight what he thinks of the LFA. "What's an LFA?" he says. Oh no!!! We're quickly remedying this issue, via YouTube and other Google searches, plus LFA photos I've taken that reside on my phone. How could I have let this happen???

indeed... i remember rental tauruses with that loud gutless POS. then there was the 4 cyl duratec in the modeos.
wow, serious problem and yeah. glad it's being fixed under warranty! that likely would be VERY expensive to fix.
unless you're striker, seems like a good plan to always have an mb/audi/bmw with a warranty of some kind. my neighbor though, has a bunch of older mb's (including TWO w222's) but he has an indy he trusts and does fine (plus he's loaded anyway, ha).
i think that's really great you're giving it a shot. i suspect the year by year improvements will have made it a overall better car than earlier years. i think i'd really like one these days... look forward to your report!

In other news, since I am struggling with deals and finding S580s and 7 Series…I’m planning on going to drive an LS500 tomorrow…been a long time since I drove one.

The Aston Martin V12 is literally two of these slapped together and having some parts commonality and the Jag AJ V6 series used a duratech bottom end.....that liked to spin rod bearings as is the ford way. My jag has this exact issue occur, the jag top end nearly never has issues but the bottom end is known to have rod bearing failure in all applications for various reasons.
The irony of what cars technially use aspects of the 3.0 dura and what issues they have really make you question some of these brands decisions. I will say that the jag versions actually all sound and feel good, far better than any ford or Mazda version. Aston version is a 12 so obviously it has a vastly different/superior feel, pain to access stuff though.
With both cosworth and Porsche involved you would think it would have been one of the all time greats but IMO it's clear why Porsche abandoned/sold it.

Not going to get to it today unfortunately...will report back for sure.
I was also going to look at a G90 but the leases on them are terrible, only $150 or so less than a $140k S Class.

Well, that may not sound like much at first, but, adding up, it's a good $1800 yearly savings on the lease.....probably enough for you and your family to take another trip down to Disney World.

You're not wrong. They're currently running a promotion that would allow you to buy 4 days' worth of tickets for 4 people for $1600. Regular price for that is about $2400, or $2800 if you want to visit more than one park per day. A single-day, single-park ticket for 4 runs right around $600.
Then another $2400 or so for a week at a "Moderate" resort, you're at 4 grand before you even show up, or $5k if you didn't score the promo. Want something fancy like the Boardwalk and that $7,000 only covers the room.

Paying less for less is not value...its just less.
Oh, at least! Doesn't cost me much though so Mike is actually right lol, we own DVC and have Annual Passes so we don't pay for lodging or tickets (well, we pay $4,000 a year for tickets but we already have the tickets), and flights I use AMEX points for. So it costs us food, and a car rental...so he's about right...

May have hit paydirt. I have a broker I reached out to that had some good payments, we'll see...
