Chain snapped but somehow no valves died, a first for me. GM Ecotech engine

Boost boi......lorg snail. Many HP will be had soon

Random stuff from today, I'll have some thoughts on the GL up later. So far it's very smooth but more primitive inside than I expected vs a same year Q7, ride makes up for a lot though

Put my car in for the leaking valve cover gasket repair, I have a nice emerald green GLE350 as a loaner, I really like it...the 4 cyl is tragic though

Same here. A lot of bonds pay off their interest this time of year...especially the tax-free ones like I have.

That's a quite common issue on a lot of engines of all types...fortunately, a simple repair. I did it myself on a Mazda Protege four-banger I had years ago............although the attachment-bolts have to be torqued just right. You also have to make sure the mounting-surface on the head is clean and does not have any old gasket-fragments/residue on it when they are scraped off.

Probably doesn't ride as smooth as your S-class, but a lot more versatile.

The 2.0t engine is tragic and the whole thing is a tragedy in itself... god knows how much that thing costs.

I see those, they look gooooooood. But I know there's garbage under the hood.

Not just this Benz, but it's a good example.

You are champion of downsizing engines. You have defended that in the past.

I love that the first thing you hear in this video is a W12 start

Lol, I mean a car broker.

Very surprising on a car this young.

Probably doesn't ride as smooth as your S-class, but a lot more versatile.
It’s actually closer than you would think, and this one doesn’t have the air suspension. Air suspension GLSs (that’s what I would get) ride great.

I priced up a GLE580 with all the stuff, like $107k. That’s a lot for a GLE lol

Not at all. I hate downsizing of engines, but I understand it for mainstream cars. Not a luxury car though, this 4 cyl does not belong in a Mercedes, especially a $70,000+ one.

The GL is indeed very smooth for an suv, probably the best I've driven tied with the Range Rover. Surprised me actually.......doesn't drive the best but is very smooth and relaxed/pleasant.

The tires were aired way up to 44, spec is 31 so I lowered them. It really does ride nice...

I like having these handles to grip, I miss having a gearshift so I would have somewhere to put my hand:

Amazing how much shorter than the S Class it is:

I'm going to work out of it tomorrow and my guess is I will have it all weekend (as slow as MB is). Maybe I really should consider a GLS...

In other news, I think I may have an S580 deal, $140k MSRP $1,678 a month with first month drive off from a broker. It would be an ordered car...

Nice interior. The steering wheel cap looks like cheap plastic

So frustrating to see such a good deal on a $140k car, the same priced Cayenne I built is over $700 more a month and I can’t find a broker for Porsche, probably because demand is so high they won’t discount.

As for your GLE, that color is so nice. I wouldn’t buy it in that color but I really like it and it’s pretty unique these days.
