I had a recent trip to the gas station and as I pulled in, car was in front of me, and he HAD to know I was behind him. No one else there. He pulls to the first pump and doesn't pull through. Doesn't pump gas, but instead goes into the mini mart to buy food, then leaves. People are oblivious (or worse).

I think a lot of it is being oblivious. If you call them on it, it would be interesting to see their response.

I have told this story before, but a friend and I were walking into a store one time and I held the door open for a woman and let he go in before us, she just walked in and never acknowledged we existed or that I had held the door for her. I said sarcastically "you're welcome" and she turned around and was mortified, apologized for being so rude. Her intention wasn't to be rude she was just so oblivious that she didn't even register I was there.

I always like a good rant.

Have popcorn in hand, metaphorically speaking. Lol🤓

The HUD was fun while it lasted, but now I have to wear polarized sunglasses so I don't see it anymore.
My wife and I each carry a pair of non-polarized sunglasses in each car. With them you can see the HUD very well. Neither of us has been using them too much lately but they're available if needed.

I bought a pair of non-polarized lenses in my GS so my HUD isn't washed out. Works well.

I won't say for sure that this was her case (I don't know)...but a lot of people are walking around these days (and, unfortunately, driving) buzzed out on marijuana and other drugs. It could explain her lack of attention.

LOL, no. That wasn’t the case at all. She was just absorbed in her own world and not really taking in what was around her, very common today. People are distracted by a lot of things.

You don’t encounter many high people out walking around in business districts in the middle of the day lol

Hey, speaking of HUD....

I said I hated it....

I don't mind it when it's on its absolute lowest setting and with nothing but the speed displayed.

I kind of like it, actually. But it needs to be lowwwww brightness.

More than you might think...you just may not always be aware of it.

HUDs still just don’t really do anything for me.

My guess is you have never taken marijuana. There aren’t a lot of people walking around stoned in the middle of the workday in Bethesda, and being stoned doesn’t make you behave the way that this woman was behaving. She was just preoccupied with her own stuff.

haven't seen prk mentioned in decades... do you mean lasik?
anyway, hope it's at least half as awesome as when i got mine done.

why do you have to wear polarized sunglasses, and just for a while, or forever?

Nope, it's PRK. My corneas are too thin for LASIK. PRK is still very common. You may be thinking of RK. My mom had RK done about 30 years ago and it reverted fairly quickly.

So far it's awesome, but I'm still recovering. I'm at about 20/40 and it strains my eyes to use screens too much. But I'll reach 20/20 and be good to go.

UV protection generally. 6 months minimum, but it's generally recommended to wear them outside for life(and honestly a good recommendation even for people without eye surgery).

I’d recommend trying quality sunglasses that aren’t polarized. I’d suggest looking at Vuarnet if you like really good quality sunglasses, Ray Ban has cheaper non polarized sunglasses too.
