It's just like yard work, don't have time or desire to hand wash our cars the than the SL, which takes 2 seconds. I'm too old for that ****.
I'm gonna look up close at my LX paint tomorrow.

I can wash our smaller cars rather quickly but the LX and our truck takes some time. I may do 1 per day. This is when I get a good visual if something is out of place.

I think a lot of it depends on your life. I work 10 hours a day, and I have a young family, I just don’t have the energy to wash cars myself. I spend an hour in the garage in the evening wiping them down and cleaning the interiors and all which I enjoy. Dragging out hoses and pressure washers and getting all wet, not fun.
Really hard to see any of that on silver. Harder than on white.

I am working on allowing myself one scratch or swirl per 5x5 inch area.

Here’s an example. This is right behind the rear wheel on the driver side, this is 3 years in, washed at least once a week, so it’s been through like 160 car wash trips. It’s ceramic coated, really needs to be re coated. You can see the wear along that character line and the random scratches from the carwash. Now if this really bothered me I would get the buffer out and it would be gone. You never see it unless you get right up on top of it.
If I do buy the car out of the lease I will have the PPF in the front redone and the whole car polished out and re-coated and it will be like brand new.

Lexus cars have softer paint I've found, at least the ones I've had and corrected don't need much aggression at al to lift all the swirls out. Very easy to deal with if you ever get too many for your tastes, I have very powerful garage lights and I always go crazy seeing every little thing....

How do you work 10 hours a day, raise twins and run a family yet have so much time for posts and conversations?
BELIEVE ME I get the forum addiction and fun, but you sure burn the candle at two ends. (More power to you!)

Its not easy lol. I pop on the forum while I'm working. I'm self employed so its not like I'm chained to a desk.

Back when I used to work sort of a lot, forums were just how to relax and unwind at the end of the day if I'd get to them. Now I'm here 24/7. It is therapeutic though, takes my mind off of my stiff leg and/or sore back, etc. etc. from everything.
