How is the LS500 not part of this recall? Too few sold to be statistically significant?

Totally wrong, you can absolutely daily drive a bolt on car as much and anywhere you want. It's not a true build and loses NO convenience, there are countless 9.2-9.8 second S6/7/8 RS6/7 and even just 4.0 A8s like mine with the standard bolt on build (RS7+3mm turbos, Redstar downpipes, SRM intakes, and E40 conversion including a sensor in tank to sense fuel) that the owners daily drive across the country.

I'm going to add the downpipes and ethanol sensor to mine this fall so I can have a 9 second car for less than 40k all in. Might as well do so since I can easily accomplish it

Yes, the engine has had issues like this the whole time. Epic fail of an engine by Toyota, it's Hyundai/Kia tier failure

Ah! Right on time! Speaking of bolt on builds and comical power here's a video about the most drop dead simple way to have a low 9 second car. Oh the last few minutes also mentions the full warranty ford OEM super kit that brings output to comical levels.....

Yea I've been curious about that too. The LS 500 is a super slow seller.

LX 600's now being recalled. Those are made in the Tahara plant in Japan. I have a feeling a lot of new GX 550 owners may end up having the same problems.

the LS engine and the LX are not exactly identical.

Those are made in the Tahara plant in Japan
The LX600 is not made in the Tahara plant. LX is made in Aichi, Japan at the Toyota Yoshiwara Plant

thanks for sharing that video. i watched it all and in particular it's great that ford offers warrantied supercharger kits for f-150s.

great if you want an incredibly loud straight line monster. not so great when you want to, you know, turn a corner.

i also don't see you in an f150.

You're correct Jill. For some reason I thought it was the Tahara plant.

I didn't know the Yoshiwara plant exclusively makes the LX.

I said he tows it places because he has posted pictures of it being towed places lol, I never said it couldn’t be driven. Those bolt ons still reduce reliability and void the warranty.

AGAIN, I’m glad you enjoy that. None of that appeals to me at all…that doesn’t mean I’m not a car enthusiast. I just like stock cars.

Oh yeah gotta run the 🌽. I told my wife it’s so I can buy cheaper gas💀🙃 Staying out of boost can still get good mpgs. It is a 4 banger after all

Well my V8 is on an engine hoist out of the car right now lol. Has nothing to do with V8 vs V6, it has to do with complexity. What makes Toyotas reliable is a lack of complexity. Now that they are complex, watch the reliability will be nowhere near the same.

It’s a trade off though, having had a TTV8 I don’t want a NA V8 any longer so complexity is the name of the game.
to be fair. The Tundra engine we are discussing, the issue has to do with manufacturing. Not complexity
