My point exactly, compare that to the engines in my Germans and the latter are WAY cleaner without the looms crossing over all over the place and blocking access. Valve covers on your engine or intake is a major PITA, honestly just doing everything on the UR engines involves moving around a lot of wiring that isn't contained into long looms you can just disconnect and move aside as one large section.

The Audi "equivalent" if you can call it that has instead two long harnesses on each head that you can move out of the way and all coolant connections are up front with the charge cooler and can be removed as a unit. You can take the turbos off in a normal garage in the span of 3 hours, 6 if you haven't worked on cars much or you haven't done it before. Plus you won't ever have a valve cover leak since it doesn't have those or use rubber gaskets.

actually i one i originally posted without the cover was also without the 'noise snake' which i removed because i didn't need extra noise piped into the interior.

here's where the snake goes/was:

i have plenty of sound without needing that pipe. and to me the good sound is more from the exhaust than the engine bay.

Those Lexus intake noise generators bug me too. I always was going to remove it on my GS…

When I had my LS460 and more I read in the LS forum the more I learned if I came across any repairs they weren’t going to be cheap. I loved it. It was a great car!!

A better car to me, is one that doesn’t need repairs.

No it's all real, that pipe send induction sound directly in. The 5.0 Super Jags also use that as well as the LFA and RS3

Likewise, except the emissions warranty is expired too. It's been mostly good except for standard maintenance and said emissions system.

With just a quick burst on the accelerator I was at 115 in no time and sailed right by him on the right. If my family had been with me and not paying attention they never would have noticed anything. In this GLS for instance that would have been a pedal to the floor maneuver that would have gotten everybody's attention. 0-60 etc I don't really care about, as long as it has that effortless feel.

So I've put about 120 miles on this GLS so far, and I have to say I really do like it. Its definately not as dynamic as the S Class, nor is it as locked in at high speeds. In comfort mode it feels most settled at 70-75, in Sport mode it feels good into the 80s, but never has solid as the S. I like the size and the driving position, and I like the looks. Loaded up the interior would be very nice, save those hard plastic lower door panels. I sat around in all the seats last night in the garage and its comfortable in all 3 rows and has surprisingly good space behind the third row.

This really might be a great option for me to buy, not lease, get the 179 deduction and then drive it until the lease is up on the Pacifica, give it to my wife and then lease something else for myself. We'll see when I get back in my S Class if it really is so dramatically better it banishes that thought lol.
You should try an EQS SUV. It sounds like it's in another league compared to the GLS. It feels excellent at triple digit speeds.

No car doesn’t need repairs. That’s a total fallacy. I’ve owned multiple Toyota vehicles out of warranty, cars that are less sophisticated than the LS and they too needed repairs.

If my Mercedes had a repair like this once or twice a year I would be singing a different tune, and it may turn out like thid, but in 4 years and 50,000 miles this is the first thing that has gone wrong. It’s not a big deal. This is also not typical at this mileage, this is the first one the dealer has done on an M176.

I would never go back to something like an ES…

Oh that doesn’t surprise me, it’s a car lol. This is a real SUV with ground clearance etc.

Cool video. Shows some pros and cons living with menus. The hand free driving. And some of the glitches of the infotainment.
