It’s not just the engine, it’s cars in general. Cars today hold up and take miles much better than older cars. Used to be 100k miles was really worn for a car and now that’s just really not the case

Do you find it strange that pretty much every European car built before probably the 2000's had that "bank vault" feeling when closing the door, yet today's cars that don't have that feeling are safer in a crash?

It’s because crash safety is about dissipating crash forces, so things that crush and deform improve safety.

You need to make sure you are looking at cars adjusted for inflation, a 54k car back in 06 is 90k now. Pre-2000s cars that were 60-70k are 150k easily now.
I've seen no difference when looking at the same price brackets adjusted for inflation and in cheaper brackets the newer stuff is better than the older.
What’s amazing about it is the smell never lingers in the car. It blows through the vents but when it’s off, the car smells like it should. We’ll see if using the non MB Specific scent makes a difference with that.

In not surprised since these cars move so much air, it's way more than you would think with how quiet the fans are. Do you have adjustable footwell/upper temp split in the W222?
