Here's a Lexus service bulletinregarding the compressor oil for R1234yf-equipped ES, LC, LS, and UX models starting with MY2018. here's a used R1234yf evaporator coil from an NX.
Corrosion can certainly be a problem, especially if an incompatible lubricant is used or water gets into the system. But to directly answer your question, since 1234yf is so reactive, virgin gas released into the atmosphere only survives for on average 11 days, vs. over a decade for RF134a. So even assuming that none of that reactivity had already occurred during the process of corrosion but prior to the leak (itself highly unlikely), it would take close to 500 1234yf system leaks to have the same impact as one 134a leak. Realistically, the actual number is likely to be in the thousands or tens of thousands.
Personally, I think we should just use propane. It's an excellent refrigerant, and is not a greenhouse gas. But nobody listens to me.

I'm not an engineer or chemist, but I suspect that one reason they don't use propane is that it is too flammable, and would be a potential hazard.

So Fisker filed this morning. I don't think I have seen any on the road but it sounds like a lot of bad management decisions were made. Crappy rollout probably didn't help.

Guess this would qualify as general car chat and no EV talk?

That is the reason. But there are LOTS of flammable things on a car. A couple quarts of brake fluid, 20 or so gallons of fuel, etc etc. Adding ~1.7 oz of propane (typical refrigerant fill of a modern car) would be a distinction without a difference. That's enough to run the pleasant little firebowl on my patio table for about 4 minutes.

I noticed those. But it’s still a lot of controls that migrated into the touchscreen. On the other hand I do quite like the new Mercedes style transmission selector vs the old pushbutton and pull toggle style.

Also, I am aware of the rod issues and that is unfortunate.
I think, all things considered, the Toyota 5.7 is probably the best truck V8 of all time honestly.

Their "infinite wisdom" was the decision to continue selling automobiles equipped with air conditioning.
Like all manufacturers, following the regulation announcement in 2012, Honda did the changeover on a rolling basis. So the Civic switched to r1234yf with the launch of the 10th gen for MY2016, and the accord for its 10th gen in MY2018.

A single core system uses about the same amount as 123A, the Rover takes 750-820 grams

Drove a new Tundra I-Force MAX long bed in Platinum trim today, followed by a GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate with the 6.2L V8. I’ll be writing up my thoughts and impressions soon. I need a little more time to digest…
I stopped by the local Ford dealer as well, curious about the F-150s. I can’t pinpoint what it is exactly, but I just wasn’t impressed and moved on.
Short story is that this is the current front runner (pending an update on my Tundra which is currently in the shop).
(I just noticed the Cybertruck photobomb)

is that sierra basically a silverado with lipstick? besides the ludicrously high hood which i've mentioned i don't like before, it looks like a very solid offering.

This is my first Honda and it will be my last.

Very nice, I'll like it!
However, better than Ford?
I don't know yet but it looks good.
I wouldn't expect anything less.
Funny how that keeps happening

Essentially yes, but it's really good lipstick. Open pore wood, suede headliner, massaging seats, Super Cruise, etc. This one has a composite bed box, which reduces weight and in turn increases payload, which is what I am looking for. I'm just struggling a bit with the cost and determining if I really want to go there...
