If I had a time machine I'd make the same choice again.
My brother had a 2016 F-150 with the 5.0 that he stupidly got rid of. It was ultra reliable. The 6AT was so good and smooth.

Now he has a 21 with the 10 speed that's driving him crazy.

Ok that's good. Is the Denali still in play?

Did they have any idea what caused the differential leak? Was it your tow or just a coincidence?

I'm torn. Pending discussion with wife... After driving other trucks today, I need to get behind the wheel of my Tundra quickly and compare with a fresh view, then decide.

He did not provide info about that. I'm inclined to believe it's a coincidence as I've been towing for the last three years, and to be fair, I only inspected underneath last week because of the noise that I now know was caused by the skid plate, so it may have been leaking for a while.

No need to rush into a decision. I'll slow down and give it all some thought. I doubt an $87k Denali is going to fly off the lot in the next few days (could be wrong).

They are doing it wrong then, you shouldn't use a gasket for that diff flange. It should be a high spec gear oil RTV

Respect your viewpoint, but I cannot say that I agree. That differential comes with a gasket there. If it's leaking, replace the gasket, which is working for hundreds of thousands of other Tundras out there with differentials that are not leaking. If that fails, then we discuss alternate proposals, none of which are likely to be performed at a Toyota dealership under warranty.

work. Tundra has a lot of corner cutting, auto 4WD debuted in the late 90s and it’s now 2024

How'd you like the 6.2? Glad it's getting sorted out.

I liked how the 6.2 drove, but was not at all impressed with how it idled. Too many vibrations at idle. After my own truck then driving the new Tundra hybrid, the vibrations of the 6.2 at idle were unsettling, but if I can look past that, it actually reminded me a lot of the 5.7, just quieter and with a LOT more gears in the transmission.

Probably was a total coincidence

The domestics are not unreliable. I know lots of people who operate domestic trucks in a fleet capacity, they're not problematic.

I know at least 2 others that may agree @AJT123 @Striker223
it does indeed! I can appreciate a good exhaust note as much as I appreciate not having one. I had aftermarket (and barely legal) exhausts on a few of my cars, but mine are all stock now. If there's one car I regret selling it's my V8 F Type which absolutely must have been 100% illegal despite being stock. One of the loudest cars I've driven, and it had a fantastic note.

Interesting, most of the time you can't tell the Yukon is idling. It's 95% as good as Lexus is at that.

LX570 NOTHING gets through NVH wise. All the time out of car washes, etc. I hit the limiter accidentally and forget to put it back in drive.

LX570 has a nice powertrain. But full-time 4WD is so good, so it’s not just the engine. Personally I think the 2UZ is superior but full time 4WD has to be coupled with it.
Spoiler

Cool? Replace the leaking gasket with another one that will leak again, vs RTV sealed methods that don't for 200k+ on other trucks and repaired Toyota rear ends.

But if you are going dealer then yeah they obviously won't do best practice but just what the book says.
