‘You can tell by the C-channel frame. And a suspension component that is obvious on the 2nd Gen Tundra. It is really disappointing that Toyota didn’t put a fully boxed frame in that Gen. could have been a legendary Toyota truck if it had it.

I would get the V8. I’d rather pay an extra $1000 a year of fuel costs so I don’t have to live with plugging anything in.
It’s not about saving money on fuel, it’s about being able to drive it around in full EV mode which is really great. BMWs V8s are also a little raucous for me. The savings would be more than $1,000 a year too, more like $2,500-$3,000 a year.
We plug the Pacifica in every time we park it, that doesn’t bother me on any level.

Ive grown to really like how they look. The interior and quality of the car too is just way better than the W223 S Class.
Discounts are great on both the S Class and the 7, but the PHEVs are a little harder to negotiate on.
Agree on the interior, I’ve logged a solid 500mi on my grandmother’s i7 at this point. I’m surprised the PHEVs are harder to negotiate on, last time I was at the BMW dealer they were matching the same discounts as the ICE models.

I haven’t looked at numbers on the 7 PHEV, just going off the S580e

The interior is much better than the W223 S Class, which is the generation after mine. There was a good bit of cost cutting in the interior of the S Class after my W222 generation.

this is one of the rare cases where i’d avoid the V8
generally speaking BMW sucks at V8s but makes some of the best I6 engines... the B58 specifically is great and gives you that satisfying shove of torque you’d hope it would

The plug in part is what is not wanted. Most people do not want to downsize from a V-8 to a six cylinder either
Can't agree there. My S560 is the most comfortable, best riding car I've ever owned, and that includes my LS400 and my other LSs. Town Cars ride very soft, but its not as appealing a ride and they actually always made me a little sick. Seating is also worlds better than the Town Car.
The solidity and flatness of the ride is on a different level. The LS400 was very good at isolating from bumps and pavement, probably largely because of the high profile tires, but it was nowhere near as solid feeling even at 35 MPH...
what’s it been, like 20 years since you’ve been in an LS 400? i promise you there’s a (very slight) tradeoff in the S-class at lower speeds to have that magical stability at 155+ mph
and i’m only confident to say this since i’m probably one of the few people who’ve been able to hop right back into an LS 400 after extensively riding around in a W222 S560, and on several occasions too thanks to my friend’s rich dad lol
comparing it to my E-class, the LS floats down the road where the benz sort of glides... if that makes any sense
