As dumb as it sounds that works. It prevents the tensioners from returning and people have been known to do it. I never have but I've seen it before and one car I know had it does is 50k on it without issues
Non-luxury cars have to be stupid fast for me to have interest since I would want to constantly use the speed, if I'm not comfortable and also slow then what's the point lol!

I mean vs my current cars it just stands still but yeah you are right! The RS4 isn't a slow car but it's not exactly fast, it's extremely fun because it revs so high and the shifter is fantastic but it's not outright fast. It feels fast, reacts well, handles well, but ultimately can't grip a corner as hard as my daily

I had a big Buick in college, which averaged about 8-9 MPG around town on leaded premium fuel, and the best it ever did was 17.2 on the PA Turnpike coming back from Ohio.

If you can squeeze out 26+ under those conditions (which is excellent, and I'm not doubting your word), with a 3.6L V6 loaded to the gills, 5 or 6 on board people, a full cargo area, on level-cruise roads, then why be surprised when I can do 50 or more on a flat-level cruise, in a much smaller/lighter vehicle, on three cylinders in an engine barely one-third the size of your V6, lightly loaded, in FWD mode, with the A/C mostly off?

Seeing that the Pacifica Hybrid is rated for 30 MPG so I was underperforming the EPA estimate by 14% and that its a hybrid that turns the engine off whenever its stopped in traffic and many times when cruising and accelerating yes I still absolutely doubt you are overperforming the EPA estimates on your car by 80% lol. Perhaps on one specific stretch of road being very careful, but my MPG was driving normally and that was reported along the entire route, the way average highway economy should be. You drive your car normally on this trip and measure the MPG over the whole trip you're not going to get 50 MPG. For one, it would have had to have idled for 40 minutes...
The EPA probably did not rate your Pacifica at 30 under those heavily-loaded conditions. That's why I don't rely on their numbers very much for actual highway driving....I almost always over-perform them. Now, in town, it's a different story....even with a light foot, I usually don't exceed the EPA ratings, and often underperform them.

@Striker223 , would you attempt rescuing a B7 RS4? One of my favorite cars of all time. Only sold in 07 and 08, so very rare.
