Oh I'm aware of the Patrol. But still, not a LC. A 9 inch longer wheelbase alone you mentioned, that hinders off road ability right off the bat compared to a 200. But yes, it's a tough truck. LX has a tight wheelbase on purpose, sorta like a Wrangler's tight wheelbase is part of what makes it such a monster. That's half the reason it's so uncompetitive especially now. That's greatttttt for off roading fun and a 2 person family like me but people need much more room inside to start.

I'm not quite sure why I don't like these QXs more considering the hardware, maybe it's the looks. The pre refresh ones were just hideous beyond words. The facelift helped a good bit but it's still not really a truck I desire, at all.

The Patrol is no LC but it’s still a well regarded truck all over the world. The shorter wheelbase of the LX helps off-road but hurts it in the ride and space department, I don’t care about off-road beyond snow and to occasional rafting trail in WV, which a Highlander could handle so I prefer the longer wheelbase for the better road ride.

I get it, it’s a strange looking truck. The new front I think looks great, but the side and rear are strange.

Saw my first Toyota Land Cruiser ad last night. I love how Toyota has so many body on frame SUVs and trucks. And I like how they integrated the Land Crusier marketing with the rest of the line up. Astonishing that Toyota only has part time 4WD on the Sequoia and Tundra but full time 4WD is there on the Land Cruiser, 4Runner and now the Tacoma

personally, I think this A8 holds up better than modern versions

Lovely front end

but that's not the land cruiser that's "the land cruiser"... funnily enough the actual land cruiser is nowhere to be found in that pic lol

also the 4Runner and tacoma aren't part time 4WD?

is it only the limited that's full time 4WD?

I do really like those A8s, I know a guy who has that gen S8 and its stunning. The metalwork and the way the roof wraps down into the C pillars with no channel or weld is amazing.

Yes. I agree. The way the metal work is done is quite stunning. Stunning is definitely the word to describe

The D2 is very nice and classically German, that seamless metalwork is the ASF visible on the outside......there is a massive drawback to it though being it's insanely hard to repair. Very few shops know how to address it

I usually drive with the parking plus fogs on, on these old German cars you could do it.

I love it either way but I do think it might look a tad 1990s. Just curious, what do you guys think?

considering the rest of the car looks a tad 1980s i'd say it looks nice lol... my E-class can do a version of that too, i've dubbed it "dusk mode"

now if we really wanna talk about some chill vibes, pop up headlights down + fogs on is the move!

Oh yeah, I remember back in the day people used to have to have these trucked off all over the country to be repaired after an accident

Love it! Plus for safety it makes your car more visible to other drivers.

I think, though the whole point of buying that type of car is you have some sort of sheet metal that is quite new in advanced. Every time I see a new Mercedes, I often wonder how awesome the new design is

I like to look. General Motors used to allow you to do that.
