Ford won't even let journalists drive the 24 Ranger, let alone release driving impressions. I have a feeling they've got a disaster on their hands.

The road test invite and review embargo lift for the Ranger is coming in March shortly before deliveries start.

First deliveries were originally scheduled for December, a few months delay isn’t a huge deal.

No surprise interior materials came up for criticism: 2024 Lexus GX First Drive Review: Extreme Makeover SUV Edition - Autoblog

That matches up with my personal appraisal of the GX550's interior. It's the only reason I canceled my order really, outside of the fact that I didn't need to buy one of these.

Let's move this to GX thread, I will duplicate this post there

They can say all they want about the dead V8, people are gonna want them years down the road. People are buying out the last of the V8 GXs now.

GX460 was no dragster but it felt fine on the street, the V8 was smooth and refined. It was faster than 7.7 seconds 0-60.

The best I've seen is 7.2 0-60 on the GX460. That's what C&D got, and they're famous for absolutely flogging test vehicles.

Don't know how fast the GX550 is, but I guarantee it'll do it faster.

I’ve driven GX 460s as loaners and they are quite sluggish. Felt much slower than my RX 350…. At least the V8 sounds nice as you rev it out.

I flashed my truck back to stock this week prior to taking it in for its 100k mile service at the dealer(I rarely have service done by the dealer, but decided to do it this time).

I forgot how much the tune helped with low-end acceleration and shifting. I'll be flashing it back on once I replace my battery.

Ford screwed up when stopped making the Ranger after 2012, and now that mistake has caught up with them. Ford is such a poorly run company

Look what MT had to say about the interior

" no mistaking the quality of almost everything in the first and second rows. Best of all, this applies to the entire 2024 GX range down to the base Premium. "

The new GX has an outstanding interior

Me too.

I'm loving this new GX, especially in that Overtrail trim. Lexus is going to sell a TON of these.

I was all in on getting an IS 500 but this new GX has me rethinking. It just looks so damn good.
