I think I'd pick the 7.
I think it’s between a 7 and keeping what I have.

Lease deals on at least the i7 are good. It’s probably within $150 of what I am paying now and without having to pay for fuel it would be a cost savings. Considering it’s $17000 more than my S560 and rates are higher and it’s 36 vs 48 months that shows you what a deal they are.

This look good IMO. The driver screen is nicely covered. The centre screen doesn’t look so bad

That does look good. The more I look at the W223 interior the more I like it.

I really like the pinstripe finish in this pic.

The picture Jill posted is not a W223, its an SL. Just that wood trim in your 223 picture is a $3,500 option. My real issue with the 223 interior is what doesn't come across in a picture which is all the little areas where they have cut costs. Hard plastic around the door openings vs carpeting on the 222, the center console storage is not felt lined all the way around the opening, theres a plastic edge there that is actually sharp, the super cheap looking and feeling piano black plastic console top and door, the cheap feeling piano black surround for the window switches, things that just shouldn't feel that way in a $140,000 car that aren't present in the 7 Series. Even with the design if those quality issues weren't there I would go for it, but those things would bug me every time I sit in it.

I'm okay with a center screen being exposed, but I prefer my instrument cluster to be somewhat traditional, like in my G30 below.

One thing I dislike on the newer G60(and most new vehicles, it seems) is including the instrument cluster with the infotainment in one big screen. I really dislike that. My gauges are a mix of analogue/digital and I love them.

I was unsure about it before I ordered my G80, so I spent a while at the dealer playing with the iX to see what iDrive 8 was like with the large curved display. Controls are slightly different (crystal ****, wood buttons) than in my car, but that was enough to convince me. Having lived with it, I think it's actually really great, and prefer it significantly to iDrive 7 with the separate units. This is coming from someone who has been driving BMWs with a binnacle around the instrument cluster for the last 23 years.

I really do like the way the screen curves in to point towards the driver.

I think I’m going to buy the warranty for the S560 (I have 2,965 miles to go and I’m going to drive it 500 miles tomorrow through Friday). If I have no claims I can always get a pro rata refund.

The lease is through November, so I can push it a while and hopefully see what the refresh S Looks like and then do something in the fall. I would need to order a 760 or i7 to my specs anyway almost certainly. There are a few options that aren’t typical on the ground, and massaging seats oddly is one of those things, have to have those.

In the fall we’ll be even closer to Tesla Supercharging being open for BMW and my summer travel where I travel in my car a lot will be over.

Next week I’m planning on taking an i7 for the day and parking it in the garage etc and see how it fits…

I won’t ruin or spoil it. But, a few things I never knew. The 5.7 has two timing chains. Is practically a glorified 3.5 2GR engine.@Striker223 @AJT123 @SW17LS

Back from the 1,436 mile (1,445 miles if you count where I originally pumped the first tank) roadtrip in the ole 5.7 V8. Half of it towing a 8.5x24 enclosed trailer.

I like the way your speedometer has the 10/20/30 MPH, etc.....intervals instead of the far more common 20/40/60. Almost all of the speedometers used to be like that decades ago. Makes it quicker and easier to read at a glance.

On loan to a V6.....

My friend called me like 40 min ago coming off work with a check engine light on his 09 ES for the first time (209k), lost cylinder 4 coil and he has overtime in the morning so can't get a new one in time. Well we decided to pull one off the LS460, thankfully Toyota uses the same coils in a given generation for their cars!

Very impressive. 5.7 will run forever.

You can thank pedestrian safety standards for that.

I'm about to go on a 8 hour road trip this weekend in a S580. I'm looking forward to it.
