Speaking of MB, my spouse told me someone who works for him has a Mercedes where you pay $9.99 a month for heated seats.

The car world as I knew it really is just about over, to me at least. What's next? $5.99 for power windows?

I get that joke a lot as a BMW owner, even though none of my features are subscription based except for anything that absolutely requires cellular connectivity.

A buddy of mine just picked up a 2021 Genesis G70 3.3t today. This thing is very nice, and it sure rips as well. I suspect the prior owner tuned it, given that it has a JB4 badge on the trunk.

There's probably a subscription for that too. Lol

Everyone wants a piece of your wallet on a monthly subscription basis.

It's funny when I think about it.

The worst past is that the onwer has already paid for these features. Now a subscription to unlock them. Such a rip off.

This isn’t true. Luckily this subscription based concept is going away since predictably everybody hates it.

Didn’t Mercedes offer a subscription based model?

Yes, it's the same size as the E65 (2001-2008) 7-series. That tracks with the current G20 (2019+) 3-series being the same size as the E39 (1996-2003) 5-series.

I think it's a fine car, but bigger and softer than I want.
