What quirks does your car have?

Meh, traded my first one at 12 years and 158k miles in perfect working order. Cheapest car to maintain that anyone in my family has ever had. Still have the second one after 12 years and 120k miles, with no major issues outside of the diesel emissions nonsense. I'm fully expecting to have both that and the new one for >20 years.
good point about battery tech becoming cheaper, that's often how these things end up going
when i ordered my iMac back in 2011 there was the option to have an HDD and SSD installed at the same time, which is a great idea in theory since you can run the OS and applications off the quick SSD, and use the HDD for storage of movies and photos etc... but back in 2011 it would've been like $600 (in 2011 dollars) for a 120GB SSD, wasn't worth it to me at the time
fast forward 4-5 years later though and that same size SSD was only about $115! and because of the dual hard drive option there was just a spare unused SATA port on the back of the motherboard, so i bought the SSD and 2 friends helped me with the install, aka just held things out of the way while i plugged in the connectors lol... now i have a blazing fast iMac with a functional DVD player! the last model to still include a disc drive haha

2 more quirks of our cars:
1) QX80 - sunroof only opens/closes - doesn't tilt up. Annoying.
2) Tesla - whatever audio you were playing when you last exited the car will play upon opening any door. I have always loved this odd feature (quirk) because I'm a music lover and it's kinda cool to randomly open the back door to grab something and hear a good song start playing.

this is actually something i just remembered thanks to Mr. Marshall (aka Marshall Mathers), but on the E55 years 2005 and 2006 only (the 2003 and 2004 models didn't do this) the speedometer reads up to 200, however 0 - 120 reads like an ordinary 160 mph speedometer with 80 at the top center
if you look the acceleration appears to drop off sharply after 120, but it's actually just the scale changing

Another quirk found, but it's a good one. Our Tesla only activates climate to areas of the car where it knows a passenger is sitting. So if I'm the only one in the car, only the driver side AC is on. Someone gets in the backseat, it activates the rear air automatically. Someone jumps into the passenger seat, it activates passenger air. Pretty cool if you ask me.

A quirk that I'm sick of are seat belt warnings that drive you absolutely insane.
I wear my seatbelt, but I don't always put it on right away. My LX will beep for an agonizingly long amount of time, I'm not even onto the next street from my house.
Many cars are much worse, the Yukon is horrendous with the seat belt alerts. It won't shut up at all.
I lovvvvve how my SL you get seat belt flash when the engine starts, and that's it.
My LS430 the light doesn't stop blinking.

Right. I just don't do it right away a lot of the time. Sometimes I do it right before pulling out of my neighborhood after I get everything settled in the car like my phone etc.

I always wear it but when I have to shuffle cars around (as happens when you have a few) it's really freaking annoying hearing the "key not found" beeping, chimes, seatbelt warnings etc etc.
I have all that turned off on all of them.

1. A single track day would cost right around $1k--$300 entry fee plus $700 insurance with a $20k deductible, which is still a bit rich for my blood.
2. No chance in hell she'd ever go.

here's a 'quirk' of the W206 C43 AMG, they drive for about 500 miles and then sand from the engine block clogs and destroys the cooling system
and this really was just posted 2 hours ago, i see this happening ALL the time on these cars

I've discovered a couple of quirks on our QX80. Strangely, they all relate somehow to locking and unlocking the vehicle.
- On two separate occasions I've tried to open my gas tank (just press on the door, there is no internal button or switch) and it won't open. Today I thought it was broken and I pushed it probably 20 times. I went to open the car and when the doors unlocked, the gas tank popped open. So it occurred to me that the gas tank has a "lock" just like the doors and it can't be opened when the truck is locked. Never had a car like that. This makes sense to me though.
- I don't think I can unlock all of the doors by touching the button on the passenger door handle - it only unlocks the passenger door. Conversely, the driver door button will unlock all of the doors if I tap it twice. I'm going to ask Infiniti if this can be customized. This is an annoying quirk.
- The truck doesn't auto unlock all of the doors when you put it in park. Only when you turn the truck off. I've searched online and doesn't seem like this can be changed, but I'm going to ask Infiniti. I find this annoying as well.
