Extended Warranty - cheaper now or later?

Extended Warranty - cheaper now or later?
Does anyone know if it’s cheaper to buy the extended warranty at the time of purchase, or later near the end of the factory warranty. I know the extended warranties on domestic models are much cheaper to buy near the end of their factory warranties (Ford, Chev). Buying a NX350h so checking our options.

I think it’s just easier to purchase it at the time of sale because you can work it into your negotiation. Also things tend to be cheaper today than 5 years from now. Whether it’s worth it to buy an extended warranty is up to you.

Other than during the short initial period to cancel the transaction, I would be surprised if you could just return/terminate the warranty without some charge/fee.
