The coupe would do just fine, but I want one without all the heavy duty track stuff.

We love kids but don't have any. So we blow lots of money on toys.
I'd love to pick one up as well. As it stands, it is a tough sell when I have a car that has the same engine but is overall more usable. My car still has to be wife-approved, after all.

But, I've driven the LC, and it is totally different to drive from the IS 500. It is super smooth and has a much better sound due to the exhaust setup as well as the sound tube. Might be worth it.

I'm not a sports car person... now a GT? Completely different. My friend who really knows cars keeps telling me the SL is a sports car, and it's not. Yeah it will perform like a mother, give you endless smiles, and handles great but it ain't for the track, racing on it at least. Driving it somewhat not crazily and it would probably be a blast on the track, though. I don't think an R129 is a sports car. GT yes.

And that's why I love the LC. It weighs 300 lbs MORE than the TANK Mercedes. 4500lbs. I bet an LC is like driving a bank vault. It'll haul *** etc etc but be comfortable and inviting more importantly.

I've owned 2 V8's(1UZ-FE and a 2nd gen Coyote), and grew up in a family with a lot of V8's(454's, 351 windsor, 400 pontiac, 5.7 hemi, etc).

I will likely own an S650 Mustang GT at some point, maybe the next car after the 540i.

I will say that I love my GS like I've never loved a car before. It's my 3rd one. Hard to grasp that I cannot buy another. I also really love my Tundra. I'd take a new Tundra, but I'm not in a rush, as mine is wonderful.

My Highlander...meh. Family utility is the name of the game. No passion. I could part with it, but it's paid off and I lack desire to spend the money on a replacement.

My Dad threw an old Corvette engine into a 1975 Monte Carlo decades ago. LOL. I still remember that thing how fast it was. I grew up with a fair amount of V8s too, that one was the most ridiculous/great. I was guessing power specs, I'd say at least 350hp in today's "feel" of that much. I forget the specifics but he had to use premium gas in it bc the compression was high. 3 gears, imagine the long howl...

To keep this Toyota, he also owned a basic '91 Toyota truck for work and stuff, surprisingly comfy. Literally no options except A/C. No radio. No passenger mirror. That wasn't so fast, lol. But the only thing ever went wrong with it was a funny temp gauge.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the legendary Toyota cruise control stalk. I can operate it blindfolded. I’m always befuddled by the smattering of confusing buttons on the spokes of other cars when trying to figure out the cruise control. Volkswagen is the worst because they have a separate button for each function of the cruise control so you end up with like 10 cruise control buttons with hieroglyphic icons and have to learn which button sets the cruise control, which button resumes cruise control and so forth it’s frustrating.

I do like the cruise control stalk, but I'm okay with other solutions too. My only issue with the stalk is that it's not always illuminated. It's backlit in my Highlander, but not in my GS or Tundra. I wish it was.

Lexus' old school cruise is as good as MBs old way.

It will speed or slow you down in 1 mph increments with each tap.

I never really was a CC person until I stopped speeding on trips. Now it's a godsend... so easy.

I really must be getting older and that's okay. I don't want to be pulled over and my day ruined. I back the blue 100000% but I don't want to deal with them lol. I've had so many freaking tickets in my life y'all have no idea.

Like our Rochester trips, if you haul *** you'll get there 30 minutes faster, big deal. It's just not worth it. I don't mean I never speed I follow with traffic, etc. But 90% of my interstate trip driving I have the CC on set to 5 above the limit.

It doesn’t need to be illuminated, because it’s so intuitive and easy to use. Wiper and lighting stalks are not illuminated.

I’m 29 and I love cruise control, I even use it in the city, on long stretches of flat roads. I don’t like to use it in hilly areas though. Too much upshifting and downshifting.

My mom is in her 60s, and has never used cruise control. She’s scared of it. My stepdad never uses cruise control either even on long trips!

Doesn't need to be illuminated, no, but I would prefer that it was. The wiper and headlight stalks not being illuminated bother me less because I just leave them in auto mode all of the time.
