I feel like it depends on people's expectations. For example, I have a Sienna, built in the US with a 4cyl hybrid. I expected and accepted rattles and the engine to be loud when compared to my made in Japan GX. I expected and accepted the lowered build quality of the US made Toyota products. Even the ES I had from 2008 that was made in Canada had rattles and tons of road noise. So my expectations are set and know what I'm getting. So long story short, I wouldnt even bother answering a survey about reliability or put it down as an issue even if I do fill out a survey.

ES has never been made in Canada, they started making them in 2013 in Kentucky...but yes the 5ES was all made in Japan.

The ES has been made in Kentucky since 2016. The RX has been made in Canada since 2004. But they still import a small percentage of them from Japan. My 2007 RX 350 was made in Japan, as was my brothers 2002 Camry.
