Interesting. My BIL had to rent one of those a couple years ago for room for extra passengers. His daily was an Ecoboost F150 3.5L so he had a quick *** truck.

He went out of his way to tell me he really liked the engine in it and the power, I found it interesting. I agree Infiniti V8s are nothing special in terms of design and reliability though.

Maybe you're just used to a car that does 0-60 in 4.2 seconds? Lol. That's kind of a high bar, lol.

The engine was plenty smooth, but the vehicle was not powerful feeling or quick on any level. Its the NA engine, all NA cars feel slow to me now. WOT they aren't slow but driving around normally you need a lot of throttle to get power so they seem slow.

Right. Thankfully my LX which is similar in displacement, torque when you put it in PWR the shift logic becomes extremely aggressive--- downshifts take just a tap. Makes it feel faster than it is.

I imagine that in a heavy and ancient BOF truck, not being quick seems like a safety feature haha.

I agree with you, this new model seems superior in every way. I also like the styling, its clean, and modern.

The inside is a knockout but again it looks too much like a Lexus outside.

But they're not really slow, they do 0-60 in about 6 flat. That's plenty quick. But if Steve hated the transmission absolutely 10000% I know I would too.

I think you guys are just used to your much faster cars that are designed for actual speed. S560 goes 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, that's absolutely absurd.

It’s NA vs turbocharging. It does 0-60 in 6 seconds but that’s WOT, if you’re just driving around you’re needing to get the RPMs up over 5,000 to get good power and that just makes it feel slow. The TTV6 will feel quicker in normal driving.

Whoa, had no idea the old QX80 could achieve that kind of pace. I actually looked into them when I was shopping for a GX 460 last year. When I test drove it, I didn't think it could do that haha.

6.3 seconds, a little slower. But that's still quick.

You rly think it's a foot narrower? The outgoing QX80's width is 79.9in w/o side mirrors and the new one's width is 83.3in with the mirrors folded.

🤣🤣 was just going to say the exact same thing. I still see nothing more than a mild refresh in this “all new”qx80.

Besides I’d much rather have the Cadillac Escalade iq electric. No v8 or ttv6 can even come close to that in terms of sheer torque and acceleration. Plus the front trunk is huge and interior looks great.
